Asus service center just called me to get my windows password to check my Windows. Again I told them not to format my hard disk. They said ok

Ow? so they work on saturday? I was told that they r not working at weekend? shakehead.gif

QUOTE(horns @ Jun 22 2013, 08:31 PM)
beware for new haswell machines: the voltage of the ram is now 1.35v. ram that need 1.5v (common ones that can be found in the local market) are very likely to cause troubles later (over heating, damage to the cpu integrated memory controller (due to the increased potential difference), and increased battery use).

damn.. it's in the specs of the cpu :/
*
No need haswell, my current sandy bridge run faster than any haswell in the market... tongue.gif

"they say ah.. no comment sorry sir.."  smile.gif

MYR 180.00.

theoretically, yes. practically, no smile.gif

The ac wifi modem is very rare & costly here. Afaik i dun see any of public place support it. Cheapest modem i find is RM600++ , not worth the upgrade... yet.

I was asking holloway that he has any idea for upgrading wifi antenna or not biggrin.gif

well one it would be funny if u couldn't buy a crucial product in a crucial online store right?

second.. maybe broaden up a bit your variety of choices? or do you have specific preferences towards the crucial.

thirdly.. I just realize when u ask is it good enough, u might want to do a bit of reading regarding the stuff u want to buy. Some people will tell you, SSD is just an SSD everything will be the same~. Think back twice thrice biggrin.gif because the more you see the more it will not be the same.
*
Totally agree, especially when u ask opinion of ppl which is selling those PC stuff. mostly they wana do is push out the old stock, will not recommend you to buy the new thing they r selling tho. Do more research b4 you planned for a purchase. nod.gif

simple. dont~ lol.. why would u
*
TS wana change laptop? What about this thread? lol

IMHO putting another cube just for the GPU is kinda waste of space. Monitor, CPU, AMP+ speaker, Keyboard mouse, and now GPU chasis?

uh? carry it around? @holloway is right: don't, lol!

i put this at home la. i have plenty of space at home biggrin.gif i don't play games when i work. for work purposes, even the 660m has more than enough juice already.
*
haha, jz my thought. Since we r in mobile computing thread, it makes me think that way tongue.gif

BTW, if you play waterblock in your rig brows.gif , separate GPU to another chassis definitely is a bad idea.

if i have a gaming rig with liquid coolant.. why would i go for a gaming notebook? go for slim2 sexy2 laptop~ easier to carry around lol

but if i have a gaming notebook, and needs more juice. i'd definitely head towards egpu if my laptop allows me too.

i think what they are aiming for is laptop user.. coz as we can see now most people are going for mobile gaming and having both gpu inside the laptop without proper cooling just kills the laptop faster.
*
Bro, my advice is dun play custom desktop rig too much, once u go there, u gona be as broke as fcuk. Like me biggrin.gif

QUOTE(horns @ Jun 26 2013, 11:49 AM)
oh.. imo for the sake of discussions let's us do not limit ourselves to the keywords, 'mobile computing' only. if i really needed to stick to those topics to the letters, i really have nothing to discuss already (as of now, high mobility means low performance, relatively; there is not much to discuss lol!). i might as well go else where biggrin.gif

i just think that it's a nice idea that an external gpu can be used to replace our aging gpu. with this accessory, we don't need to worry about whether the gpu on our laptop is of custom form factor or soldered, and we can just get one and use it for all sorts of low-powered laptops.

if i have a desktop rig, eGPU is pointless biggrin.gif pci-e is much better lol!
*
Totally agree with the 'high mobility means low performance' terms nod.gif I not sure about using external GPU with low-powered laptop tho. For desktop PC, there's plenty of room to grow, but you have to see how much ur wallet grow 1st biggrin.gif
