First of all, thank you for replying me.

To answer your question, i have been hunting for a mech kb for a while now... being holding it off for my audio gears~ which has been completed a few months ago and i decided to pamper myself with something as i received nothing for my birthday this year tongue.gif

Yep, geekhack did mention about keycool 87 difficulties in finding compatible spacebars~

Form factor which is giving me a headache. I was prepared to go without the numpad but to go to a 60% board causes me to think twice as i am afraid i miss out on the f1 to f12 button.. which in my case, i may only use it like less than 5 times a month ><. If it was months ago i was prepared to splurge myself with a coolermaster tkl but i cant find myself to like the shape. So i waited lol

Anyhow i promised ct that i will grab a unit from him. I will just start with a red switch and see how it goes along the way~ or i may change my choice of switch along the way as i ask him to mail me on a later date.

If you use the f keys 5 times a month, you'll have no problem using the poker.
The f keys are in the fn layer.

I'm sure he's pretty good at keeping them lol. He needs to post his keycap collection!

My keycaps collection are nothing to be proud of.
Just some plain looking sets.

I am more proud of the keyboard collection.
Phone camera not doing it justice, so not taking many picts.

anyone seen the 'Nathan's Set' keycap set? is there going to be a group buy?

edit; there will be a gb later.

You should post pictures or links.
Nathan's set, I'm guessing puts a SmallFry wordings.
While a nice gesture, pretty non practical to be used. I did not know that person very well.

this topic quite happening, mech kb family getting bigger.  thumbup.gif

best part is, everyone, even senior members are very helupful and friendly. so different from certain hardware threads, all sombong, always act big.  shakehead.gif
*
So what happens if the people act sombong?
Everyday laugh at people who use Ducky/Rosewill and ask everyone to buy Korean Customs or Realforce/HHKBs?

Would that be a general idea of what a sombong senior is in this section of the LYN?

this thread's pace... is waaaaay too fast already.....  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

just been away for awhile... then all the posts...  shocking.gif  shocking.gif  shocking.gif

We probably need a section for peripherals, but then it will just sprout stupid threads like 'Ducky Fan Club', 'Rosewill fan Club', ' CM fan Club' etc.
Pretty useless threads that discusses nonsense instead the essentials like, 'what swtich should i get', 'this keyboard good review' etc. etc.
If it get over moderated, then people will complain, like what happen to the Apple section.

But the way this thread is moving, more people will just complain, 'this thread too long, i didn't read first few pages' etc. etc.

He bought it at 400$ i think. Most people want to sell at cost, but that's the average price. I was told by demik not to buy LE if it costs more than 350$ ~_~
*
My KMAC WKL cost $350 icon_rolleyes.gif , ship EMS from Gangnam.
Not the best condition la, some sweat marks, some scuff.
But okay enough for me.

Does switch stickers really help ?
I'm planning to add leds to the Poker 2.
Might else well add them on if I'm removing it.  mellow.gif
*
Don't add.
Look nice only. No use.

But....err.. why adding LED need to remove switch??

Boss, you should stay outta this.
Since you are selling stuff, answering like this pointing to what you are selling, isn't good.

If someone recommends the product they sell and get banned because of that, something is wrong. That would suggest that if you want to sell something better don't post anything in the forum or you will get your threads deleted, account banned. If they walk in and go HELLOO!!!! Buy RK9000, I'm selling...see signature..RM 269...good buy! That's a different story though  doh.gif
*
I am not saying you should not recommend stuff to people just because you are selling stuff. That would be crazy, and everyone including the sellers are entitled to their opinion.

I am saying that you should give all the available options in the local market as a recommendation even if you are not selling it. Recommending the pro's and cons, if at all possible.

If you want to help someone buy stuff, do it right. Tell them why you recommend it, if possible.
Not...'get Model R*'

An example would be
Hey I want a keyboard for RM250.

And a recommendation would go
Model R* (Maybe you are selling this) - Plain looking board, minimalist
Model C* (Someone else selling this) - Gamer feel
Model B* - Weird front row caps, cannot change keycaps in the future.
etc.

This would allow people to make a better decision. Again, just my few cents.
This thread is to educate people. Sales thread is the other way.

I actually wrote a very long post with SRP, pros and cons, that people can use to just quote and post, repost, and repost, every time someone asks for recommendation but things would probably get boring
*
I'm not the boss of you tongue.gif

I'd love to see that post of yours, and every time someone comes up with, what do I get for 'minor gaming + major homework', they can go read that first and ask questions that are not covered by the FAQ.

What lube are you using?
I find the reds are still a bit scratchy after lubing with krytox 103+205 mixture.
The only way to get the perfectly smooth linear MX is vintage black + lube. I am using the blacks from a WYSE.

I using only super lube.
for spring i use victorinox oil.

In terms of scratchiness, I can't deny that vintage black is really smooth.
So much smoother than this red even lubed.

By breaking in will reduce the scratchiness ?
I am not too sure about this.
*
No idea about the breaking in. It might take years.
I have a vintage black board and I am considering to sell all my red switch board. Can't bear to use it.

To other people, red is super nice already. First world problems.

Vintage black means modded black?  blink.gif
*
Vintage means they are made earlier than 1993-1994

QUOTE(0168257061 @ Jul 7 2013, 11:25 PM)
I am also letting this board. Haha.
Yes. After lubed is much more better.
So much silent, like everything.
About the LED hole.
I am not sure why manufacturer wants to pre-solder the hold.
It is quite a bit hassles especially to remove all the solder before you can insert led
*
Just need one set of wave soldering than two.
Save cost.
QUOTE(lowyatguy @ Jul 7 2013, 11:29 PM)
How much letting go? O_O , RED switches lubed means more linear? I have no idea about all this thing yet
*
Lube means they feel smoother than original.
Your mileage may vary. Some people cannot tell the difference. Some people thinks that it is wonderful.
