Upgrade the graphic card and ram will do the trick.
For a budget 1.5k, try consider Leadtek GTX770 RM1499 or Sapphire 7970 Vapor-x RM1399.

Try PALIT GTX770 2GB - RM1395
8GB G.Skill Value RAM - RM179

SSD you can stick with the plextor.

Different manufacturers.

Leadtek GPUs are not bad for their fairly cheap value and quality.

In fact both cards are roughly the same, just slightly difference in clock speeds and design. Why not picking Palit over Leadtek for even cheaper pricing?

Btw, Palit has just overtake ASUS as the biggest GPUs manufacturer. nod.gif

Higher VRAM is just if you are planning to play games above 1080p. A lot of games now are already pushing 2Gb @ 1080p btw. Jetstream is Gigabyte's aftermarket cooler. It's better than stock, but of course, it's a little more expensive.

laugh.gif No. It means if you have a screen with a higher resolution than 1080p, the card will still be able to support it. If you try to run a 2Gb card on a game at 1440p and above, the fps will drop, making the game less smooth.

If i got so much budget, i'll SLI 2 unit of 660Ti. The mobo is X8 , X8 SLI capable.I dont think a GTX770 can catch up with this.

The 4Gb one will allow you to play most of new games at 1080p without problems. As I said, a few newer games already use up to 2Gb of VRAM and it will only get bigger when games with better graphics pop up. As for your Tv, I'm not sure since I have no way of telling what model or resolution it runs on. tongue.gif

hmm.gif normally I'd consider that as a 1080p screen, albeit a huge one. (40" Goddamn!) But that refresh rate might push a card higher than a normal 60hz screen...

Actually, your hypothesis is not fully accurate. It is true that some of the newer games e.g Crysis 3 consume more than 2GB memory at even 1080p according to this review by Guru3D, but this alone will not be the reason why the game isn't playable. Even with a 4GB VRAM, the GPU itself isn't strong enough for you to even play smoothly with all the details maxed out. So we shouldn't conclude that 4GB will simply allow you to play most games at 1080p lag free, when some games are so intensive that the GPU will simply run out of processing power, rather than become memory limited.

Even HardOCP concluded that there isn't any advantage between a 2GB and 4GB version of the GTX 670.

QUOTE
This evaluation has concluded that there isn't any advantage, even in the latest games, to using an ASUS GeForce GTX 670 DirectCU II 4GB video card over a 2GB equivalent for a single-display gaming. We can honestly say now that 2GB is "good enough" even in the latest games like Far Cry 3 and Hitman and Sleeping Dogs for single display gaming on a GeForce GTX 670. The fact is, the performance isn't high enough with a GTX 670 GPU to allow the advantage of 4GB of memory at 1080p or 2560x1600.
