Finally done with Kingdom hearts 3.
Would like to platinum it, but I don't have the luxury of time.
The final 10-20% of the game was very intense and rewarding if you know the story.
The direction, voice acting and story in general was excellent.
Spoilers for the ending

- It closes a lot of story arcs pretty well. Was it rushed? Yeah. But with what limited time they had, they handled it really well. Far better than FF13 or FF15.
- For Chain of memories, it closes the Riku Replica and Namine storyline. Riku Replica defeating a version of himself. Namine finally getting her own body. Vexen and Zexion redeeming themselves.
- For Birth by sleep, it closes the trio arc well. I felt they handled saving aqua and waking venn up really well. We always knew castle oblivion was the land of departure, having it transform was a nice touch to continuity.
I'm surprised they included Sora's reaction to Vanitas face too, I thought he would go masked the entire game. Terra regaining his body was great. Master Eraqus in the ending was bonus too. This is pretty much the happy ending in BBS we have been waiting for 8 years.
- For 358/2 days. Roxas speaking through Sora to tell Xion is ok was a nice touch. I didn't expect Xion to be one of the members. I liked the part where Roxas, Xion and Sora was fighting together too. The ending where all of them having sea salt ice cream was a nice end to their story.
- For KHUX. I just started this game a month ago and I'm glad I did so.
It doesn't closes KHUX story arc, but information here would be crucial to the next KH.
Xemnas hinted that Marluxia, Larxene, Demyx and Luxord having links to the time before the keyblade war was a nice continuity nod as we already know of Larium and Elrena.
The Chirity appearing and waiting for its owner (most likely Ventus who's also a leader in KHUX). Ephemer appearing and you using thousands of keyblade wielders (KHUX players) to beat the large demon tide.
Scala Ad Caelum being Daybreak town
Of course Xigbar/Braig being Luxu was a complete surprise. The lies he tells where he can't wield a keyblade.
Additional questions are
- The girl Saix and Axel was talking about? Rumours say it is probably Strelitzia, Laurium/Marluxia's sister who was killed in KHUX.
- The heart in the final world. Again, it's probably Strelitzia
- The wild card Luxord gave to Sora.
- The secret ending. Why is Sora in Shibuya with Verum Vex protagonist? Is this Nomura's version of FFversus 13 ?
Other stuff I liked about the story was how badass Disney characters can be.
From Sully and Mike kicking Vanitas out, to Woody burning young xehanort.
Also liked it when Donald cast Zetaflare which is the most powerful version of the spell that not even any version of Bahamuts can use.
I really enjoyed this, more than any other KH games.
I can definitely see why there are so polarising opinion's about the game.
Those who are not caught up with the story, would probably just skip all the scenes and find those bothersome.
Those who have invested time over the past 15 years in the story would greatly appreciate the game.
