Compared to the old Memo Pad, the HD7 has a better CPU, more RAM and a better display

Which is better, for gaming and office?
asus memo pad hd7 or asus memo pad 8
or any other tablet with similar price range?

asus memo pad hd7 - quad core 1.2ghz cortex-a7 with PowerVR SGX544
asus memo pad 8 - quad core 1.6ghz cortex-a9 with mali-400
samsung galaxy tab 3 7.0 Lite - dual core 1.2ghz cortex-a9 with Vivante GC1000

tq
*
I'd say the Memo Pad 8 has the most power, but Asus's stock ROM is quite bloated :\

the HD7 does have a beautiful screen, but i'm not sure if 7 inch is suitable for reading. so aiming for higher sizes.

memo pad 8 is rm530++; and then there's this

http://www.lelong.com.my/playtab-9-4-andro...7-01-Sale-I.htm

looks really, really good
*
Not too bad la.

Any reason for that?
*
The Acer uses only a dual core, while the Asus packs a quad core Rockchip.

Also, for general usage, a 16:9 display is nicer to view than the 4:3 of the Acer, despite both being 8" tablets.

Try out the Asus for yourself. I'm using a Memo Pad HD7 myself, and I'm pleased! biggrin.gif

Or used set can rm2xx still can ori set .. icon_idea.gif

For that price, the Tab 3 7.0 Lite ISNT worth it.

Asus Memo Pad HD7 Asus Memo Pad 8 Samsung tab 3 7.0 Lite
Mediatek MT 8125 1.2GHz Rockchip RK3188 1.6GHz Marvell PXA986 1.2 GHz
Quad Core Cortex A7 Quad Core Cortex A9 Dual Core A9
PowerVR SGX 544MP Mali 400 Vivante GC1000
1GB RAM 1GB RAM 1GB RAM
1280x800 7" 1280x800 8" 1024x600 7"
216 ppi 189 ppi 170 ppi

Also, the Vivante GC1000 is horrible when it comes to 3D related stuff (Same case like the Actions ATM7029). Samsung should sell it at RM2xx whistling.gif

Well, to be honest, invest RM300 into some Crap tablet is like you throwing RM300 into the sea. Better get some tablet that you can use at least up to 3-5years above. Spend like around RM500 to get Asus those.

u mean your budget for total price for both is RM1.5k?

Ya Nexus 10 and Memo Pad 8 is a good choice but Nexus 10 are really rare nowadays, need to be really lucky to find one. In any case Asus Memo Pad 10 FHD is a good choice as well if Nexus 10 unavailable.

Anyway do note that Nexus 10 is WiFi only, in case u missed out on this this point.

Why not? there always have an app to save your stuff to sd. Unless is KitKat that restrict your stuff saving to sd.
*
ES File Explorer can overcome that.

At least it can read and write to external SD

Highly recommend Asus Memopad 8 for those who are looking for 8". having use it for the past 2months, i can conclude:

- built quality is relatively good, solid plastics (not cheapy ones)
- screen is bright and contrasting. Color's a bit warm to my liking, but you can easily tone it down
- Wifi is strong,no issues. GPS works well during my recent Aus trip by Sygic
- Being Asus, you are assured of quality software development. I've not found any bugs so far, and some Asus's preinstalled software is pretty useful, like Supernote. It allows you to finger gesture sketches and inserting pics, creating your own on the go memo
- Battery life is awesome, i can concur on that. Setting brightness comfortable to my eyes, Wifi on, i'm able to get around 8hrs browsing, youtube, movies

In short, definitely no regrets getting it. You are assured of quality software that will work and bugless. I can pretty say, 8" suits me best, as i mainly use it at night, laying down on my bed utilizing it. Attached are pictures of it, with a surprisingly good China clone transcover. I'm getting another tablet, iFive mini3 retina (on the way). kinda itching to test it out after reading good stuffs on it

Roughly the same story with my MemoPad HD7. I didn't bother with the GPS though.

Now, if only Rockchip or Mtk would go open source whistling.gif

a quick google around will be around USD160+/-
yeap you are right, before this purchase, i did read alot on this. Probably, for RD display with this kind of built quality is justifiable at this price.

Long term reliability is quite questionable for me though.

my asus memopad HD7 almost 1 year old liao, still going strong flex.gif
