erm... I rotate screen and they are pretty responsive like other branded tablet. So I don't see those sensor are necessary. I don't use auto-brightness anyway.  sweat.gif

I think China tablet is harder to sell now compare to like before Nexus 7. You can get New 2013 version Nexus 7 for RM700 (direct conversion). (better processor + better screen + its a freakin Nexus).

Pretty bad scene for Malaysia China Tablet unless they are selling way below it. RM570 for Mini One will not sell if Nexus 7 is here with direct conversion price.

I think China tablet will need to price their tablet at RM450 with RK3188 tablet pretty much soon. And all other tablet with AllWinner/MTK/etc will need to price it at RM2xx. I think that will crash their earning.

Blame it on Google. We get better quality branded tablet at bottom price.  mad.gif

You really think that Asus Malaysia will sell the new Nexus 7 @ RM700? Direct conversion is one thing, but local RRP is another. Remember, the first gen Nexus 7 was $199, meaning RM643 or so after conversion. And how much was it sold in Malaysia when it was first launched?

To me, cheap China tablets are disposable. Rosak? Throw away, because frankly, it just isn't worth repairing it. If the local distri can fix it, good. If they need to send back to China, be prepared to wait a few months without a tablet. I just dropped my Vido, and that destroyed my power button. I'm contemplating to sell it right now. Mind you, my Vido is in a case, and it dropped on a carpeted floor. The power button sorts of works, but needs to be pressed hard. Warranty? I'd rather not be bothered.

I know Google launched the Nexus7 as a budget yet powerful tablet, but that happens overseas. Google has no control of the price Asus sets locally. So because of that, the Nexus 7 isn't a budget tablet like what the Americans perceive it to be. For our local market, budget tablets are cheap, like those Allwinner A13 tablets.

I think Nexus 7 was sold at RM700 too in Msia, not by Asus Malaysia, but by Newegg. There's not much price different with US and Msia. Direct conversion is quite true one.

Warranty also can claim locally, iinm hmm.gif

But Mini One is more like alternative to Ipad Mini in Android form. Sadly i don't travel as frequent to China as i used to else I would have bought it myself in China for less than RM500.

Not sure but u guys but 7 inch screen size just seems bit odd else i would have settled for Asus Fonepad biggrin.gif

3rd battery charge on Mini One

Standby mode - 100% no deduction
3.5 hours of continuous online streaming / gaming with wifi on - 90% down

I am not impressed by this.
*
Brightness settings? 3rd charge still might be a bit too soon hmm.gif

There are a lot of factors affecting battery life, just so you know.

Well frankly speaking i expected the battery (4000 juice fyi) to last 5-6 hours at least...might see a WTS soon if this is the case wink.gif
*
One more thing, firmware.

The 0703 4.2.2 firmware locks the CPU to a max speed of 1.4Ghz.. that may help.

Hi guys, I am looking for a Cheap but good Android wifi Tablet.

Here are the requirements :

Size : 7 or 8 inch screen
Processor : 1GHz
RAM : 1GB
OS : can run Jelly bean smoothly
Connectivity : WiFi must, Bluetooth optional, Sim card no need
Good battery life for Wifi Surfing
BUDGET : RM200-300 only (the lower the better)

USE for casual web browsing and the occasional games (minion run etc)

Currently looking at the China brands, and even some China rebranded like (iPRO, 9tology). I know they dont inspire much confidence but just wish to know which is the best among the cheap ones smile.gif

I know that "good things don't come cheap and cheap don't come good" but just wish to know which among that budget is the best sweat.gif

Feedback from users who are using any of them would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanx

thanks for the quick reply. saw the specs. would it be laggy? since its an intel proc. i tried my frens tab 7. it was ok. nvr tried fonepad before..
*
Give it a try first.

For me, I'd rather trust Asus (who makes the Nexus7) more than Samsung (who only resizes the Galaxy S3/S4 template)

On a side note, how many good 7" tablets that aren't Chinese tablets, but branded one? So far, for our local market, we have these for under RM600

- HP Slate 7
- Asus Memo Pad HD7
- Acer Iconia A1
- Lenovo A1000
