I'm going to bali next month, anyone know whether the new highway from the airport to Nusa dua is built yet? If not finished I will stay at Jimbaran area, don't want to get caught in the jam...

completed already.

had a go with the highway on a scooter, had to pay 2000 for toll

There is only one place you MUST GO in bali. It is a must so much must that i could not emphasize ever.

Go to sky garden at jalan legian between 5 to 9 i think. the buffer they serve there is only RM15 and is QUALITY FOOD. I repeat... QUALITY FOOD!! we talking about seafood from prawns to steak to good patty. And free flow of beer from 5pm to 6pm.

Never in my life i can find such a great deal. Just take a look guys. Customer pure point of view, dont believe u can even check out tripadvisor many people comment on that too

hi all,
i plan to have a family trip on this june(heard its peak season).
info: plan for
-4D3N for 1 mother, 13 adult pax and 3 child age below 6
-more to sightseeing (tanah lot, beaches, temples, lovina for dolphine, any other?)

few questions:
1) to stay in hotel(3-4stars) or villa (how much the price difference will be)
2) which area to stay if we are more to sightseeing?
3) to rent a van and drive ourself or rent a van with driver(any suggestion? costing incurred?)
4) where to eat is the best (costing incurred?)
5) any itinerary to share? as well as the costing incurred?
6) Anyone here had done sth similar to this"? how it goes and how much total cost incurred?

**Did i missed out anything?

Please advise. as this will be a trip i purposely arrange for my family. regretted not having a family time previously with my parent and family.

Hello Tony,

4 days 3 nights? Lovina alone will probably take you sometime to reach and one whole day of time spent there. The trip itself would be around +/- 3 hours. We left really early in the morning and that was the shortest route from what I learned from my driver. Also, you have a lot of adults with you so I'd suggest you get a driver beforehand and let them do the driving to take you from places to places.

Let me answer your question?
1. How much budget do you have for a stay? If villas are no problem, I would recommend those as I've used them. Breakfast is prepared every morning for you before you wake up, you have a private pool and if you are just lazy to go out at night, they have menus for barbeques and stuff. Privacy and the place is slightly far from town. Let's say from the place where I stay to Kuta, it'll be around 200k for taxis. smile.gif

2. Kuta is the town area. Eat all you can find at your expense and it is very near some beach. Tourists everywhere.

3/5. like what I said above, get a driver and you can plan your itinerary with him. They will give suggestions if needed. smile.gif Range of drivers pricing would be around 350 - 450k per day, per driver/vehicle. Since you are going in a big group, they will probably recommend a few transports.

4. Eating place. Different forumers different view. I'd say Nuri's (non-halal) for the ribs and stuff, still, this is debatable. For the sunset dinner, the last trip of 5 people had us paying 1.2 or more mil. Lol. (felt like a king if you don't take into account the currency). Personally? Nothing special, just want to try out the sunset dinner. You can see planes arriving from time to time. Haha.

Regards.

khrisna is like a general store for souvenir. u can find find most of the bali souvenir inside 1 building.
while sukowati and ubud market r the real pasar. if u have time and like to go around then these places r better option

Ya, I had checked online and found that Krishna are those souvenir outlets actually.

Does anyone know how much cash average is sufficient to exchange for 2person staying 4days 3 nights in bali? Accommodation is already paid for. So more or less is traveling, entertainment and food expenses.

Krishna is selling most of their own products and can be a bit pricey. their t-shirts design are their own and i find it quite ugly with their big logo in the way. can always shop around in other places but be careful not to get slaughtered by the prices.

Why tired on the first day ah?

I read on TripAdvisor there are a lot of bad comments regarding Turtle Island. Worth going?

Thanks for the shopping tips! smile.gif

Hi, just went to Bali back in march for 6D5N.. It was amazing...

I segregated my time between ubud n kuta.. N honestly I like ubud more as it was so calm.. Stayed in Tegal Sari. But as it was 5 of us, we booked teo rooms. booked Villa Sesapi and Wooden deluxe, super deluxe. as we booked only 3 weeks vefore departure, one toom had to do shifting.. But no hassle, just pack n leave ur bags there.. Ps: they advise up to 3 months booking in advance.. no regrets in taling Villa Sesapi.. This is a new villa that they hv not even listed on their web, but if u email them, they will try u about it. Their other villas are nice as well ( managed to get them to open it for us to visit). They are now in d midst of expanding their hotel. For deluxe rooms.
Tips: don't eat at this restaurant called Mrdea jhoni in ubud. The tax charged was 21%!!! Also, mount Kintamani the buffet sucks n there was a lot of flies..

In kuta, stayed at Dekuta hotel @ poppies lane 2.. Not bad.. But a little bit old already due to wear and tear. My suggestion is that, book a night only.. N walk around. As we are not into shopping, we walked around n saw many new hotels that has just opened their doors for business n it was cheap! N they are willing to show u the rooms before u book it.. So... For kuta, u can do that..

Hope that I will have more time to write the whole trip later on..

Hi, not an expert, but u might wanna skip kintamani or just pay the entrance fee.. They will try to get u to eat at the buffet which is not nice.. N after awhile, u will get tired of the view. Maybe tanah lot I should reserve it for the day u travel from ubud to kuta. It's nearer.. Also, most of the sites are nearer to go from ubud than from kuta..
Try to search on the map...
