I roughly have the same number of figures, in addition to a dozen MG Gundam kits, a dozen Diecast cars, and over 40 HG Gundam kits (all stuffed in a box in storage). Past figures, i didnt keep all their boxes, keeping boxes only became mandatory for me more than a year ago. But our figures differ in a way that mine consist of characters more to anime series, not much are from VN/manga/game-only characters, most likely because i tend to watch almost every single anime. Mascot characters like Miku also i dun have much, 2 PVC and 2 nendos only, and i only have 1 Sonico figure so far.

I see. I started model collecting when i bumped into Metal Gear Rex by ThreeA. The monster was a love at first sight. That caused a fatal chain reaction as now i understand MGR rex pricing gave me an indirect illusion that all PVC seems cheaper, and i started buying more and more. Bad move i guess. But you are right in a way most of my figurine are from games (Playstation). I watch anime and also play games, but somehow PS games gave me a deeper impact maybe cause of the story line. Odin sphere, Metal Gear Solid, Tekken series, are some of the examples. But coultnt deny that there are some anime PVC statue which i never watch like Saber Lily, Xenosaga caugh the attention of most collectors.

Read lots of discussion here (or in V8) on PVC shelf life, ways to maintain and other advice sharing from fellow forumers here. Been lurking for a while. Until i realize there were too much box behind me that it wasnt a good sight to some.. TBH I find it hard to explain to family about this hobby.. Art?

420 is quite low - and that will only happen if yen stays low, but i dont see the yen maintaining at a low for long. There have been occasions where i expect a particular price at preorder, but after stock arrives it it either higher or lower than expected. Always prepare extra cash by 10-20% to be safe, when release date is near.

I can bet the seller import a shitload of quantity and from some China supplier like Taobao, that's why it's cheap.

It's genuine. China suppliers like Taobao, they have access to stock directly from the factories and when u purchase in large quantities it gets very cheap, and some local sellers themselves are a member of Taobao and act as an agent, so, there is no middleman involved so they can get it cheap.
But Taobao itself has both genuine and bootleg items though.

I deposited around 100000 yen in my newly opened foreign current account last friday. Cant stand yen rising drastically, my POs got hit real hard. If yen goes up I'm happy, if yen goes down I'm happy also lol.

Imagine in a customed room with tempered glass shelf display to all side of the wall. With all PVC statue in MISB box condition well arranged within the shelf with ample spacing in between each box. Arranged by box size, by theme, and by characters. Well, why not icon_rolleyes.gif

Browse over 9,000+ random PVC photos to handpick a few. Told myself to buy 1% of the photos i have searched. But1% of 9k photos is already 90 units.. I learned my lesson. Dont see too much.

Agree, seriously cannot see too much. The more you see, the more you want to buy. To make things worse, especially if you happen to see those exclusive ones and take a fancy to them, some of them price already over 15k. I found a limited prize figure I really wanted, die die want, then found out her price was 40k yen. Dafuq, had to part with her painfully.

actually it depends on personal control, hahaha...I am crossing over diecast car model, 1/6 Hot Toys movie figure and Japan figurine, but is lucky that not many type of these collectible item last long enough in my "shortlisted" list.
After a few weeks of looking around, most of them lost my interest in getting them, so my wallet save laugh.gif

like for example, the lineage II Elf, i spend half year to make sure I am really want it, then after that only I will buy it, if there is still left tongue.gif
Personal attitude to control my expenses, just don't want to over spend on these collectible and just to make sure that I really happy and satisfy to own that particular figure.
Just a sharing~ smile.gif
