the bad thing is that it will not be compatible with all crank arms..
so, it is either you are forced to buy a non rotor crankset and change the rings or you buy the complete crankset from rotor....which is like RM3.5k ++ and the mechanic also has to know the product installation and setup very well or it will be dodgy upshifts and always encountering dropped chains even though it comes supplied with a chain catcher which is a must on the oval rings... usage wise... some people think it's hocus pocus shit while some people swear by it... you will only know once you try it out... it is a very funny feeling though and for me, personally i felt that it compromised rear shifting a bit as well.. i tested a bike with SRAM Red fitted with a full rotor 3D crankset before...it is a slightly different feeling especially during climbs... somehow feels like your tempo is a bit messed up for some reason... maybe it needs some getting used to... |

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Jun 7 2013, 07:04 PM) eh BH, mainstream brands lace their spokes radially @ non-drive side. how come urs which are laced the same, patah? the problem with mainstream brands is, it also patah for me mar... i jus didn't learn my lesson with this current wheel...FR7, patah both sides randomly Xero XSR-1, patah non drive SRAM S27 AL, patah non drive (and non-drive is actually 1 crossed, radial on drive side) Mavic Open Pro laced to FH-6600 3-cross both side... the only one never to had a problem i start to think i could be in a movie called broke spoke mountain... QUOTE(miaopurr @ Jun 7 2013, 07:09 PM) lets just hope their spokes to pull through the hub like previous generation ones... they are notorious for that... especially when ridden by a gorilla... |

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Jun 7 2013, 07:18 PM) ei dun ask me.. i ride bike like it was meant to be ridden...ask the manufacturers...i am jus destined to be a wheel killer...actually... bike shop doubt me when i showed interest in FR1... the answer i got when i asked for the price was... "replacement spoke is very expensive for this" QUOTE(miaopurr @ Jun 7 2013, 07:19 PM) spoke head patah... cabut from flange... i think you google it got quite some complaints one...but then i think shimano imposed a rider weight limit on their wheels lar... there is just too much fatso out there or they are too optimistic with their wheel designs... |

actually the worst was the SRAM S27... killed 3 spokes in 1 month, 1 each week (i suspect it is the nipple that could not handle the twisting lar)... by the time 3rd spoke was f@ked.. they ask me to leave it there so they can claim entire wheel... after a couple of months waiting... i got bored and took it back with 4th spoke in and sold the wheel off at less than half price

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Jun 7 2013, 07:24 PM) my xsr-1 also very long lasting... more than half the spokes on the rear wheel have been replaced and the brake track also became concave...i had to give it up because the nipple ran out of threads and the spokes was too lose to be tensioned any harder... |

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Jun 7 2013, 07:27 PM) so shimano has jumped onboard the 2:1 wagon. if the non-drive side spoke patah, habis la... so out of true that the rim will get stuck in the chainstay actually i think my XSR-1 was even worst... paired spoke design... the wheel runs so much if the spoke breaks that i have to fully open the release lever for the rear calipers...i own the FR7 too and that was 2:1 as well.. didn't felt that bad compared to S27 and this current wheel... but then again.. most low spoke count wheels are generally going to be very bad if they break a spoke... |
