dugong you can feel comfort to do it. . though not sure whether there will be any dmg to absorbers. .

After almost 4 years of Saga ownership, i can almost conclude that Saga bad NVH is mainly due to suspension (Abosrber + spring).

Our car suspension just can't absorb those tiny bump in coarse road, and causing all those low frequency tyre roar that penetrate through side sill, firewall, doors and floor. This one need expensive solution to cure it. It also make the 'already fragile' structure to rattle like hell, thats why many complaint buzz rattle noise over here and there inside the cabin.

Try compare a dugong and Saga ride feel, observe Dugong behavior over bumps, and release Saga tyre pressure until you get the same feeling as Dugong when go over bumps, i can ensure you will get the NVH same as Dugong NVH.

Thats why until now i still using my rim kompang, higher profile, max comfort in terms of NVH, although it looks ugly.

Just my 1 cent.

yup. rim kompang n higher profile absorb the pot holes or uneven before even delivering it to the suspension. lower profile tyres will in the other hand pass this job to the suspension... thats y we feel shake shake if ur on stock or sport suspension... or how to brain this rclxub.gif

What pressures do you pump ? 200kpa ?
Mine 230 front 220 back.
In my opinion, works OK for me only cool2.gif

Not to found fault with you but I have to disagree that Dugong quality is better maybe a bit tad better only. I used to work for Toyota Service Center and KIA also.

Quality of the Toyota cars to me has decrease a lot it's really so so only. I have owners complaining to me windscreen rattling noise from a 1 week old Vios, Power steering hose came loose before even 1st service (whole PS fluid leak dry), rear absorber not properly tighten Avanza lucky owner came in early when he complain got large sound from rear when going over uneven roads. Rear brake jam on a new car...etc...I've even open up a 2 weeks old Camry whole dashboard assembly because the AC system got sound inside the blower. That's why I've move away from Toyota ever since my neighbour before he change to a Vios I told him you better think again. But he still went for the Vios Dugong....he got the car then less than 1 month I saw him checking and move in and out of his Vios he told me the rear got sound send to service center also cannot rectify. Then another time he complain again front got sound.

Also the way the SC staff rectify problem is also sometimes not very professional. I won't spill out the details here because after kena sue then I die loh....what I see I see...up to personal choice to buy any brand of car.

To me I see that Proton has improved although it might still be under our expectation. Perodua on the other hand I also owned a MyVi before. Quality also have problems, I changed my steering rack twice in 1 year. Front headlights started to have crack line after 1 year. Head Unit rosak 3 times.

I've also seen a lady complains so furiously to the SA about her CT200h QC when I was in the service center when I send my Lexus there for service.

So any car also have QC problems not just the cheap cars...even expensive cars also have one. Even R35 have problems, MFD sot sot when the mileage was only 25k. Need to fork out a hefty sump to change it.

Due to softer sidewall, my last CC5 tyre during cold i pump 220kpa front and back 200kpa also fine.
Now XM2 come with harder sidewall, hot i pump 210kpa front 190kpa back. If pump like CC5 the ride will bumpy like hell.

BTW, cold and hot pressure difference can up to 20kpa or 2psi.

How do you know whether the tyre is hard or soft type ?

Yes, you are right. In fact, every car has its own "sickness" that needs caution handling.
But I am just merely saying dugong is better.
But by how much is dependent on the user. Like I said previously, some ppl get car very minor issues.
Some ppl get same car but a lot of problems.

The SC rectify problem part, I think this one happens to many SC. I believe their aim is to delay until the 3 yrs period is over. Then, they only tell you the real issue or tell you this and that needs to be replaced already.
I have known ppl working in xxxx SC saying that usually they will just shut their mouth unless customer complains about here and there of their car got sound or problems. It's universal

hmm.gif Actually, the principle for testing hardness is quite similar like that except they dun use the human teeth to make the markings. laugh.gif

I understand how it is done if we are talking about testing a material's hardness in a lab.
You have those hardness test machines (vickers, shores & etc).
But how to test tyre hardness outside ?
Unless you are saying the hardness info is from the manufacturer itself.
