if we can unlock without contacting sony then it would be great

Impossible lo, as it need the IMEI, that why Sony will know your device unlocked or not by checking thru system.

So if unlocked, the warranty will be void even tho I reset it back to shipped ROM & Re-lock bootloader?

A few days back, I check out the cam on the .253 firmware

the setup.
1. White paper with an A written in blue ink
2. The phone is suspended above the paper ~ 80-100 mm
3. Several type setting used

the results:
On .253 FW, Normal mode, HDR ON, ISO 100


On .253 FW, Superior Auto, HDR OFF, ISO auto


back then I though I have no idea for the second banding problem
the first one with the ghosting is because of fake HDR on the Z
where it will take 2/3 frames and stitch it together
some how on the white paper the algorithm mess up

And I retest on the .307 FW hopping improvement

the results:
.307 FW, HDR ON, ISO 400


.307 FW, HDR OFF, ISO 800


.307 FW, HDR OFF, ISO 1600


.307 FW, HDR OFF, ISO 200 or 100



bear in mind all this test was done under fluorescent lighting

gonna try out under sunlight

mcchin You spot the issue! Ya! They have this issue in all firmware, from .443 to .253 to .307 to even latest .407

can anyone give me mirror link for latest Flashtool, it seems i cant access to most of the downlink given ...

the banding problem is present on fluorescent lighting only
not happening on sunlight...thats good

but the stitching is still happening under sunlight
but only have issue with ISO1600,
Lower ISO have no ghosting issue

been reading around XDA, that using V7 and/or V8 have the restart issue

Install Monx ROM, his one working. But you might want keep something stock as Monx change something on the look of Home Launcher.

i found the issue when i was testing HDR in my office..

I think sony dev team didn't discover the issue as they only take photos outside..

ya I mentioned regarding this before...
the phone will go to boot loop when you flash v7 or v8, and in v6 there's a slight settings issue as you cannot access brightness and power management, the settings.apk will crash..

What issue in which firmware? I lost this post, didn't notice it.

that was not an issue with the firmware, it was the issue with flashing v6 docomo in 307..
apparently v6 is not compatible with 307 odex build..
might be because of the changes in settings such as the addition of notification pulse, v6 which was build to support odex 434 is not compatible with 307 hence crashing it..

Oh, use Monx one, all settle.

Monx is bundle DoCoMo in his latest .307 ROM

Monx ROM is much smoother a lot than niaboc79 ROM.

Monx also did nicely in black theme, nothing part in Monx worst than niaboc79 except I prefer origin stock Launcher look.

No wonder laa

I have updated to v7/v8 docomo with no problem on .253
then when i update fw to .307, initially can boot
then playing around the stamina mode later crash it and cannot open it at all
restart get me stuck with the screwdriver/spanner with blue animated bar below

after a patient wait
the phone boot back up with no problem so far

rom flashing is something i dont like
maybe i lack the time to understand wholly on the process

sort of promised myself to not crap things up when i have to wipe all to update from nice .434 to better .253
just for the sleep notification light

now ... have lost a good docomo notification
and to regain back is to do more process....

guess have to wait ofr niaboc79 to update
but last i heard he is off for 10 days from 11 june....
21 june is 3 more days.....

I suggest you try Monx one, he had optimize something, niaboc79 is just theming, no optimization and I still curious on his sincerity on black mod Phone app, the suppose smoothness when hide the dial pad is not there for his .253 version at all. It behave like he still using back old .434 phone app.

hmmmm , still no official .307 update for XZL..
