eh bro thought the k series delayed to end of the year??

Haswell K is set to be released in 3Q 2014.

QUOTE(coolkwc @ Apr 29 2014, 12:19 PM)
They will released 'OC enhancement' Haswell by mid year, they will 'improve' TIM for this unlocked chip, seems like maybe they back to solder TIM...

+1

Actually it's not really bad when Haswell can do 5.0 with full cores/threads.
Nice wallpaper btw. laugh.gif

yeah but this time i aint gonna blow 20k on cpus and made a loss of 2k selling them at a discount.

its not the tim is the only issue. Some of the proc i had.. their vid voltage was the voltage for the multiplier of 39. I was like wtf. 0 headroom
*
Yeah same here. Lots of money and time spent for chip binning on 3770K and 4770K end up buying used ones for 2x price lol.

Took them two gens to fix that overheat issue. Hope no more new issue arises on the refresh chip.

Yea, SOC or SOC Force will come.

Already testing BIOS........(but on Z87X-OC , so is not 100% compatible).....
*
Nice bios interface! What's the improvement brought by the modded bios onto your Z87? More stable?

QUOTE(devillightning1 @ May 8 2014, 10:11 PM)
I think I just accidently killed my PC lol. I accidently set the cpu ring voltage to 1.9V instead of the VCCIN VOLTAGE, and now even after clearing cmos thru battery removal and ram removed and reseated, the PC still wont boot to screen. Any ideas how to revive this PC? The POsT led screen on thr MB shows 55...which I think is eArly memory initializTion?
*
Lol. Although I have replied you via fb. I am not sure how serious is the impact of applying excessive Ring voltage but code 55 has several possibilities of causes ie. faulty RAM, incompatible RAM, wrong mem settings, insufficient voltages, CPU socket bent pin, CPU needs to reseat. Or maybe the CPU IMC is dead or dying etc.

Advice is to borrow another RAM stick to try. If you have a spare CPU or mobo that would be helpful as well.

Just running default and slight OC.
The thing is that this new BIOS are for a lot of new components on Z97 board.
Even iTE I/O Controller Chip is upgraded model, which is not compatibly with Z87.

Some cool things about the new Z97X-SOC and Force
SMT DIMMs only on these two boards
DIP Switches for disabling memory channels
Added in new clock gen just for BCLK
Added in more support in BIOS for things like boot modes, PWM frequencies, Spread Spectrum, DDRVTT, DMI controls.

Here is some of basic.......

*
That is a hell of great features cramped on a board. Here is the first review for Gigabyte Z97X SOC Force

Received the review sample of ASUS Maximus VII Gene yesterday. I'd be benching it with my old 4770K lol so don't expect any significant improvement over the Z87.

I think they are just quoting the old rumour from coolaler, which is not a reliable source for some of us.

Better take it as a grain of salts. Computex is around the corner so just wait hehe.

i7-4790K to get 4.4GHz

QUOTE
Two Devil's Canyon processor has begun sending samples, time points Computex 2014 published should not be changed. Has confirmed that Intel will now be officially published two Devil's Canyon processor Computex, models will respectively Core i5-4670K and Core i7-4970K. Earlier, according to the news provider's message, the two processors have begun sending samples last week.

The first is the Core i5-4690K, the clock is recognized as 3.5GHz, Turbo Boost can post to 3.9GHz, this processor with the existing Core i5-4670K gap is only 0.1GHz; more interesting should be this Core i7-4790K processor.

Intel Core i7-4970K perhaps the real Devil's Canyon. Clock aspects, higher than the Core i7-4770K 0.5GHz, so that the basic clock reached 4.0GHz, but after Turbo Boost to 4.4GHz. In CPU-Z can be found in part of the name still can not get the exact information, but in the specification has been able to recognize.

Both Core and Pentium G3258 Series deal to go with Intel Z97 motherboard is definitely the best plaything, but so far, we still can not grasp the exact time listed three processors can be overclocked.

I just tested 4790ks and 4690ks ES chips using Maximus VII hero

1 out of 5 4790Ks did superpi 32m at 5ghz 4c at 1.365V and the rest not stable even at 1.4v to 1.42v
5 out of 5 4690Ks doesn't boot 5ghz 4c 1.365 to 1.42.

EDIT: win7 os for testing

It's ES anyway. We haven't seen retail clocking so far.

4.6ghz seems to be stable at 1.3vcore.

Don't worry as most review sites managed to get around 4.6-4.7 max on air/ water. I'm interested to know more about its mem ocing.

Wait for local store. From record we are among the first countries to get stock even prior to official physical release date. The price also won't be too far from overseas unless if some bloody retailers wanna cut our throats and come out with stupid bundle idea or limited stock thingy then jack up the price.
