how old is the xbox ?

my Box 1yr+ aldy, still running well. Sometimes I even let it run overnite for downloading purpose. If ur Box is destined to RROD, it will come no matter where you place it. Just sooner or later only, if thats the case why everybody so "Kiasee" about when their Box will get strike....? No offend, just sick of those people worried so much....

hahaha true what you say... it just matter of time b4 it strike.. but it doesnt hurt to give some extra tender and care for ur precious.... since its not easy to get one have to work day and nite to earn money to buy one... so it is necessary to care for it... even if u know it will strike by some disaster...

for those hard earned buck, even a prevention of 1% to decrease it , i will take those measures

to increase lifespan even we know its destined to hit, its just prevention

there is already hard proof that heat spills out the rrod , so if u wrap ur xbox in a towel, u are actually increasing chances by 100%

if u do the total opposite, u might decrease chances so why not?

take it from both forward and backward angles

The main reson for 3RRoD is too many heat up & cool down cycles...which the component inside cannot withstand the thermal load.....

so....consider play it a lil' it longer or let it on for a lil bit longer....when you turn it on

Wow. That is a tight space. Not recommended. PS3 fine, but Xbox 360... even if it works for quite awhile, it wouldn't be too long... the heat can't really escape in that tight space unless you're playing in a full-blown air-conditioned room.

u might want to consider the power bricks location and ventilation as well, if you're going 2 do that

It's not good even for PS3.....

ps3 doesnt have much heat problem , not like our nice older brother xbox

ps3 is a really a performer i tried 3 days on never off download and playing games.

yes.. but care abt ur blu len.. guess next gen console really sux sometimes...

yup i heard that ps3 lens not very durable but nvm at least it wont damage disc like xbox does.

Info that i know of Sony Malaysia:-

-40days warranty for lens as a wear & tear part of the console.
-Cost incurred to replace the lens is expensive.
-2 weeks waiting time for the console to be repaired from Sony
-Console of MY version got high failure rate compared to SG version even with 65nm chipset.

These information given from someone who own the console. Anyone can verify the statement?

Older PS3 will heat up if placed in a closed cabinet . This might eventually lead to slowdown/stutter then crash/deadlock. I'm not sure the latest 65nm revision though....
