Is it stable now at v6.5? There were quite a few FC issues with the earlier versions due to the DPI stuff.

Pretty stable I would say.. Don't remember any frequent FC on 265dpi biggrin.gif

First Article in the series from XDA to reduce dependence on Google ...

Say Sayonara to the Play Store – Part 1
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/say-...y-store-part-1/

The Play Store

As promised, the first in our series of “Say Sayonara to Google” articles is about the Play Store. Love it or loathe it, the Play Store is popular. It is so popular, in fact, that it is often berated for the poor quality of apps contained within. While Google is making strides to improve this via their Bouncer malware screening platform, at the end of the day, the Play Store is built on fairly shaky security grounds.

The first security issue with the Play Store is that of remote control. Imagine someone told you the following:

I am able to remotely install arbitrary software to your phone or tablet, which can make use of any permissions available to an app, without prompting you on your device. So I can get access to your GPS location, or access files on your SD card, or access your contacts, and upload all this through the internet

Goo.im is slow.... is everybody trying to download Moon ROM tongue.gif

Hi, rooted phones cannot get OTA updates. You need to run Triangle Away and flash the entire stock ROM to allow OTA updates to resume.

What do you mean by OTA update fails at 30%?

after i flash back the stock boot image i can get OTA updates.. just that after downloading the update and try to update it, the phone will reboot to recovery and flash it. then it fails at 30%..

just wondering... is there any backup apps that can restore user apps and data without the need of root? if yes then i can just flash a stock rom and ota will run fine again..

Ooh...failing while flashing sounds serious. AFAIK, you cannot restore DATA without root. Since you seem familiar with flashing, why don't you flash a pre-rooted stock? Post 7 and 8 has links.

i didnt upgrade from an S2, but rather from an N4 to the Note2. almost $300 difference. was it worth it? f*ck yes. let me begin with saying that after using the note2 i will never go back to a phone with a smaller screen or battery. i was skeptical on the physical size of the note2 but i wanted to give it a shot specifically for the battery (im a fairly heavy user and was 15% or below on battery by the end of the day with with N4). the battery life and screen real estate on the note2 change how you use your phone. before, i would limit what i would do on my phone in fear of draining too much battery and having it die on me when i would need it. but now things are different. i do what i want, when i want, however much i want. and the extra screen real estate only makes using it that much more enjoyable. i get through the day without a single worry (i take the phone off the charger at around 7am and dont plug it in until about 1am and usually still have 40ish% of battery left), and can stretch it to two days no problem. the note2 has been the best phone ive ever used (ive had iphones, blackberries, random androids, and all of the nexus line so thats saying something), and you can bet ill be getting the note3 when its released.

edit: one more thing thats note specific - the Spen. i dont know how valuable other note users find it, but i actually like it. i didnt think itd be that useful, but i find myself using it more than i had anticipated.

I don't use use my tablet as often ever since I got the Note 2. That itself is a big fundamental change for me. Also, for me the Note 2 is the perfect phone. I've had about 4 android phones before I got the Note 2. This by far is the best phone. It does everything I need a device to do and more. That includes books/music/video/browsing/email all on a nice large screen, yet small enough to fit in my pocket. I don't think I can go back to a phone with smaller screen.

++1. Even 5 inch display I find too small now
Having experienced the 5.9 inch Vega 6 I now find the 5.5 inch also too small already. Talk about getting used to a larger display, I have zero problems accommodating to it. I really look forward to Note 3 rumored to be having a 5.99 inch display too. Just hope by then Samsung would have corrected n tweaked all the TW additional stuffs found in the S4. Design wise I am not bothered n willing to accept same design signatures as Note 2/S4

Hello. Well personally it seems the moon rom thread is extremely fast moving. It has reached the same post count and view count in 1 month compared to monx in 7 months. Probably the avatar pic helps. tongue.gif
But if it's gotten stable now it's worth trying again.

I am contemplating wireless charging, however I want to standardize on microsusb 5V support. One of these chargers are using 19V, and this one is 18V, and definitely with some 3mm plug.

I'm sorely tempted to get the LG WCP300 with a battery patch. That one takes 5V 1.8A with microusb.

dont know what it means actually... my friend who is an engineer at some lab in singapore claims that he is working on wireless energy (not for mobile though). they have managed to charge something even more than 1m away OMG so amazing

anyways, this is pretty cheap and nice solution. just throw and forget type in the office for example. just plug in and then it will just stay there

PS: maxis has begun to sell 4G LTE S4

It means, you cannot plug and play with the cables you already have. You need to stick with the charger that came with it.

Anyway, I saw someone entered 10hr SOT using Project AOSP and NEAK 2.... hmm.gif
