QUOTE(aba9785 @ May 23 2013, 03:10 PM) can't find any record Just to share (again), I paid about SGD30.32 ~ RM75.80 in Singapore for 42004 during 20+5% sale.only got this: 42004 Mini Backhoe Loader USD 24.99 | RM99.90 | multiplier = 4 -10% = 89.91 |multiplier = 3.6 For this one, i got lucky a bit, only paying rm80-85 (hard to count since i also got bring in other stuff) the saving is there, but not significance... might be better to buy from retail? (credit card point, royalty point, etc) so why do I import then? well, I didnt know parkson n jusco will be selling them (saw them selling around 1 month later) List price is SGD39.90 ~ RM99.75 Hand carry back. Bought others also Malaysia Lego price is higher than quite a lot of other countries. If anyone has chance to travel, go grab it. Otherwise, local landed price during sale is alright. |

QUOTE(Yakimurai @ May 24 2013, 06:44 PM) About the Daiso with red or green, i went to the 1U new wing outlet and asked why some Daiso have the display with steps and some don't. The cashier said Daiso 1U new wing is a wholly owned by Daiso Japan while others are Aeon owned. How true is that? Cannot be. Sg. Wang also got Daiso, but I recall no Aeon/Jusco there. Giant got lah. |

QUOTE(Ultraman the great @ May 25 2013, 08:38 PM) Want to ask all the technic sifus here... Depending on what you like for big setsWhich is a good current production big set to start on? So far only had a smallish set but felt no love for it, maybe the big one will pull some heart strings... Medium-to-big: 42006 excavator 9396 rescue helicopter 42000 F1 race car Big: 8110 unimog - may phase out soon. Licensed set. Pneumatic and motor for winch and grabber. 9398 crawler - current set. Still new and won't EOL so soon. Remote control car, but crawling speed. 8043 is EOL set and premium price. If you can afford, I suggest start with 8043 first. Then 8110 Then 9398 In between, check out price for 8421 and 8275, if price is acceptable, grab it also. Both EOL already. Coming later this year will be 42008 and 42009. |

QUOTE(daisuke @ May 25 2013, 11:48 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « overall very pleased with lego set, although i long time no touch lego d, but very happy can fix lego again haha, i still lik technic very much haha. but i think rock crawler would b better with XL motor. anybody selling xl motor? XL is 6 x 5 x 5 which is 1 stud shorter, but much wider and higher. It's possible to fit in, by changing the suspended height by 1 stud also. XL motor rpm is also slower than L ( and M) motor. So you need parts to gear up/down properly. Where to buy ? Hmm... |

QUOTE(daisuke @ May 26 2013, 01:44 PM) hey thanks, i have roughly an idea how to midify it d, just need to get the XL motor, i think i will do not do a reduction, instead opting for speed rather than power, lol XL motor rpm is slower than L motor Bear in mind, by increasing speed, you lose torque (climbing/crawling over obstacles). Vice versa. |

QUOTE(daisuke @ May 26 2013, 11:09 PM) yeah, im planning on changin the gears as well, most prob gonna do a 1:1 ratio, the original ratio is too torque bias, maybe bcoz of the rock crawler original purpose, but lets face it, this thing aint gonna climb any hill, haha so at least i wanna make it go fast at least on the ground, much more fun, just hope the gears will withstand the speed im about to subject it to. Hmm... might as well purchase the Lego RC race buggy motor im still having trouble sourcing the motor haih, anybody gonna order from BL mind tumpang my motor? Lego gears are not really for high-speed or too much torque. After all, it is plastics, and we don't put oil lubricants or grease. Although some people run the gears at 1000+ rpm, but the wear and tear life is shorten. Unless your XL is direct connect to tyre without gears, otherwise, gear crunching will happen. Or the motor life may be shorten. FYI, the differential gearbox gears are not strong. It is easy to skip gears and wear/broken teeth. I got my XL at RM63 landed. US Lego shop will be cheap, USD9.99 (RM31), but need to include shipping or other method to bring back. My guess price for BL or Tycoons here, prepare about RM75-100 each. QUOTE(hapeace @ May 27 2013, 09:25 AM) What a tiring weekend. Went to LLM but with 2 kids (3 yrs old and 1.5 yrs old), cant do much. Plus its weekend. What a horror.
