QUOTE(Caryane @ Jun 4 2013, 02:59 PM) OMG OMG OMG I'M SO F**KING EXCITED!!! good news indeed. Sorry for the caps lock. My wife whatsapp me saying that my "LOST" parcel from DHL has finally arrived... WTF man took them 2 months! Some more DHL Germany didn't reply any emails from me! Damn lucky that the parcel found its way to my house... but i will never ever going to use normal DHL anymore. Even worse than USPS First Class. Can't wait to go home and check on the parcel. Thank you guys for supporting me while i was down. you all know who you are |

hmm... i got a question/request for suggestion for vey99, alanyuppie and all the brothers/sister here.
currently i got quite many small parts...all sorted by color and put in those rm5 daiso tupperware but the problem i face = hard to find/retrieve/get those smaller part (2x2, 1x2 stud, connector n so on) so i went to look around for those multi compartment thing. i saw carrefour/tesco/giant selling something like this (but it's 25 small drawer like, refer the first 2 row of the image below) maybe i should get 2 of those and stack them up? (selling rm18-rm20 each) then put those smaller brick part there? (since i'm still doing house keeping for my stuff/toy/room) is it a good solution? please share |

Try one first. sometimes u wont know the "feel" unless you do a test-run on how your lego-picking habit will be like . I find small parts to be hard to dig from deep compartment (that's why I'm still using shallow and wide trays , dozens of them). I only put specialised /weird shaped parts (tyres, technic beams and exoforce /bionicle parts) in deep trays coz I only need to "browse" them once to collect my required parts for MOC (for eg. snag 4 tires if want to build race car). For repeated browsing during the MOC-ing process.. shallow trays = bigger footprint = easier to locate parts on the fly.currently i got quite many small parts...all sorted by color and put in those rm5 daiso tupperware but the problem i face = hard to find/retrieve/get those smaller part (2x2, 1x2 stud, connector n so on) so i went to look around for those multi compartment thing. i saw carrefour/tesco/giant selling something like this (but it's 25 small drawer like, refer the first 2 row of the image below) maybe i should get 2 of those and stack them up? QUOTE(aba9785 @ Jun 5 2013, 10:27 AM) thank you for the reply... row 1 ,4,5 sounds good coz they're categorized properly. i'm using those tray as well. very useful but my table getting clustered everyday (still cleaning them though) assuming i'm getting 1 of those multi compartment... it's 5 row, 5 drawer in 1 row type. can i sort them by this way? row 1 = those smaller 1x1 stud, plates, etc. plant/flower stuff row 2 = 2x2, 2x1 stud, plates, etc row 3 = 3x1, 4x1, 4x2 stud, plates, etc row 4 = all those connector/joints/hinge row 5 = funny/weird bricks, printed parts, does it make sense to you? /in before i'm got Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) As for row 2 and 3, you must train yourself to remember the plates dimension to avoid looking at the wrong location. since they're many plate sizes (2x3, 2x4, 4x6 ).. u might confuse yourself. My current categorization tray 1) everything plates 1x1 and 1x2 (including modified ones with clips) tray 2) everything plate 1x n longer than 2. 1x3 until 1x16 ... I call them" sticks" . the rest of the plates and "normal bricks" are sorted by color. If the plate are too big , eg 8x8 (I know I hardly gonna use it.).. all will end up in "unloved" tray with other huge parts. LOL. Big parts on top of much smaller ones will block the view, so gotta isolate them. |
