basically, u can refer to the 3G wiki, search for blacktubi's topics, there's a 3G mini wiki, you can refer there on the section "how to get better signal"

mind you though, you need to know where is your signal tower... mine actually signal dropped a bit, but seems more stable so I just let it be at the moment

Try hunt for better tower not better signal.
Better signal =/= better speed. In fact we should hunt for tower which perform better.

When I back to Kampung even at -8x > -9x dBm I can get 15Mbit and 30ms whole day.
Try 2100Mhz as Maxis don't run DC-HSPA+ on their 900Mhz.
Unless 2100Mhz is severely congested then move to 900Mhz.

For LTE, 1800Mhz seem more congested now due to the ever increasing of users. Try 2600Mhz.
But pandai-pandai lah, play with it and explore yourself, I might just talking rubbish as I still didn't play with LTE yet. sad.gif

I agree with you, 2600mhz is far better then 1800mhz in my area, in terms of speed, stability and signal strength wise still 1800mhz, which i think it's expected.
Just tested again with some direction change because it seemed like i faced the wrong tower today tongue.gif

need to play play a bit with it, at least my father no longer rant about his iptv laggy lo, otherwise sien die me

lol why it seems got arrow shooting around this thread recently one?

btw, dad is complaining about his IPTV stuttering and some 'artifacts', which from what i see might be caused by buffering most likely, just wanna ask, that is caused by high ping? or unstable speed? cos normally I have ~50ms ping and ~5-10mbps speed at lowest.. so not sure where to look into for this situation, and honestly it's some small shuttering, but can be rather annoying since he watches sports channel all the time

iptv using streamyx/unifi or maxis ?
maxis didn't support p2p connection and mostly iptv using p2p , i'm not sure it is p2p or not but it is something like p2p connect type
*
maxis, for some reason last time streamyx i have no problem with that, but right now with maxis it has some slight stuttering issue despite same speed and not that high latency( unifi below 20ms, but maxis below 50ms, i dont see this as a problem as well honestly), i guess most likely due to maxis' routing also.. just thinking if there's anyway to improve it hmmm

fruitie Pls ask your Maxis Account Manager, how can we, members of LYN Broadband Highspeed Kaki Club can subscribe to package. I understands SSM is a must, we shall register one if we get the required amt of pipu who wan to join in [non profit organisation] , any other criteria we need to fullfil ?
But his so called "old HLR" can log into LTE when in PJ ( your area )  icon_idea.gif

*
but that would require all of us to re-register our plan also if we want to be under the club right?

Can't help in this case.

Use Maxis database
http://58.71.131.131/mimsgoogle/gmapform.aspx

From the signal extension, it is not hard to guess

my house, PJS 7, in the middle of the purple cloud, so no guess for me also doh.gif

Then you should use your eyes now.

Try to spot for those antenna which look newer.

Those yellowish one or dirty one definitely not LTE laugh.gif

my guess is at a few places, Taylors Lake side campus, or the low cost apartment beside the Sunway-Puchong toll, and maybe nearby Sunway medical will have one, should be at their roof, so i just adjust there and see if my modem pick up better speed a not only biggrin.gif

I stay at mutiara perdana.
Your signal how many dB ?

Finally I can connect to LTE, I just went to change nano sim card, telling the guy with LTE ENABLED doh.gif

Last time I din tell, I ask for nano only, i tot auto got wan doh.gif

But the speed seems like capped or I am not sure.
Around 21Mbps.
*
yeap, best i got is around 20-23Mbps, testing outside my house... however, can't say the same when things are inside my house, now I am just being grateful for having somewhat stable speed at 10+mbps, 20mbps is like a dream to me when i am indoor T.T

but yeah, i do suspect our area tower is being capped. btw, which direction your modem is facing and what frequency did u lock it to?

Mutiara Perdana also just not very far from my house, maybe you live higher floor while i'm landed.. hmm hmm.gif

4th floor im living.
I suspect the tower is at the middle school there. You can see the tower if not wrong.
I locked to 2600, speed around 2MB/s in ddl.
*
middle school ah doh.gif i tried locking to Sunway College direction pulak

tonight I try again, hope I can get lower ping only, speed I am ok with ~10mbps, or even 5mbps if it is really really stable connection

What is your dB measurement?
*
not sure db measurement, last i recall 2600 is giving me around -80 before latest firmware upgrade, now router only shows signal %, which is normally 45-55%
