Haha yeah, what a short piece. I am anticipating the 2nd and 3rd articles  biggrin.gif

Bro, I just published my freaking long article titled Hong Kong and Macau where I recommended some places for food and touched on FREE shuttle bus rides in Macau and for HK,- ferry fares, taxi fares and MTR fares. I managed to buy a iPad mini from an authorised Apple Store in HK smile.gif

Also in my article, I have a very important message in the conclusion, i.e. please not do keep any valuables in your bag pack if you are going to store it in the plane's overhead cabin compartment.

That is good read. I skipped the CC section to read it first tongue.gif

Thank you for pointing the Shuttle pick-up location from Sintra to Cotai Sands. Previously, one has to walk further towards Star galaxy/MGM for a free shuttle to cotai strip.

I will definitely try the Festiva International Buffet Restaurant @ Galaxy. One of the perks having friends working there is I will be able to get staff or friends & family discounts biggrin.gif

I read previously that you have the chance to watch Cirque de Soleil show at vegas. Too bad you missed the House of dancing water. There is always next trip for you wink.gif

And I be going to Macau again this November. Actually flying into Macau with Air Asia and flying out from Hong Kong. And I book my rooms via agoda.com/ If you guys have Maybank Visa and MAsterCard, agoda offers 6% discount and if you have a CIMB Visa credit card, [b]better you compare the rate at the check out page.

@Gen-X, not sure if you can share you experience with Agoda.com.

I just made a booking at Agoda.com for two nights at Venetian Macau. I was given a booking ID as well a voucher to the hotel. How do you know that the hotel have received the reservation from Agoda.com. I wrote to the reservation department of Venetian Macau asking for acknowledgement of the reservation but haven't heard from them yet. I just wanted to make that they have my reservation so that I don't get a surprise when I drop in in two weeks time. I'll probably will be calling them directly if I don't hear from them in two days time.

TIA.

Agoda is very trustable-lah.. You probably need to call ~ a week or two before your date most probably Agoda has yet to submit your name to Venetian yet. I have been using services from Agoda, asiarooms, hotel.com & etc.. None of them dissapoint me before..In the beginning I do worried just like you and even called to the hotel and as you found out shock that my name not listed! When I told them I booked via...so-so website.. They told me to call back a week or days b4 my arrival due to the fact I mentioned earlier

@stimix, thanks for the assurance.

In all my previous oversea travel, I usually booked directly through the hotel website as it will have my reservation captured immediately after booking. I since found out from reading in LYN that it is cheaper to book through Agoda so that's why I just wanted to check with those who have booked through Agoda before. I will give them a call by end of this week to confirm my reservation.

In fact I just booked 4 nights in a hotel in Mongkok through Agoda after checking that their rate is much lower than the hotel published rack rate and/or promotional rate. Given that it is during Christmas I am happy that the rate in Agoda is very competitive compared to other hotel booking engines.

So I am all set to go on my trip to Macau then HK. I will be travelling with Cathay Pacific as I managed to get their promotion fare two weeks ago.

Thanks for all the help.

Hi there,

Am going to Macau in March (stay 2 night).. going in by Ferry fr HK.
Planning an itinerary as below... need your advise to fill up my day 2 before departure to airport.

Day 1
- estimate arrive Macau 6pm
- check in Metropark Hotel (settle down the luggage 1st)
- dinner
- to ferry terminal again, walk to Fisherman's Whaft and around
- late night go to Playboy Club (The Sand hotel)

Day 2
- Breakfast somewhere around
- Senado Square & St. Paul (Portugis lunch there? and grab some souvenirs/cookies home)
- Walk around Grand Lisboa
- around 5pm, to City of Dream
- Bubble show and Venetian
- Supper at Hard Rock (our normal practice to visit Hard Rock on the first time we landed a place).
- back to hotel.

Day 3
- ??
- ??
- ??
- flight home around 9am (estimate need to go airport around 6pm)

From reading the earlier post here.. get to know about A-Ma Temple, Macau Musuem, F1 Museum, Macau Tower, St. Francis Xavier church.
Can these places be park in my last day.. is it a convenient route?
Please suggest if I need to adjust my earlier plan for a more conveneint route.

Already book my 1st night stay at Metropark Hotel at very low rate earlier (less than HKD 500). But has extended my flight, so now needed 2nd night stay, but Metropark had increased to HKD 985. I've check on Hard Rock hotel cost about HKD 1010. Will it be better I change hotel on day2, since planning to go tat area on day2. Advise.. thk.

As mentioned in my post, we get in from HK thru ferry and estimate to reach Macau Day1 (or should call it Day 3 of the actual vacation) around 6pm.
We already spend 3fulldays in HK before going to Macau.
Intention to fly home from macau because we are planning to bring home some cookies.

If the playboy club no more.. mayb now have to consider stay 1 more day in HK.. and just stay 1N in Macau. Sigh!

Haha, it was still nice when it was at Sands, but the topmost floor was converted to VVIP casino room so it was moved to Belini venetian, which is not suitable. So close shop. Alternatively, you may check out China Rogue at Galaxy, Lion's Bar at MGM or Cubic at COD

Wynns & MGM - casino, shopping and stuffs

Maybe take a walk at old macau

Since you're coming from HK.. Yeah spend more days there.. Macau is good /Do-able within 2D1N..no need so long there. small place. Unless you wanna goto Zhuhai side which is just ~ 5km away from downtown Macau
