guys i managed to unlock my htc one's bootloader, and manage to use fastboot to push the twrp recovery into my phone, but i just can't seems to boot into recovery mode. anyone facing this problem?
*
More assured reliable way use app goomanager. Menu/install recovery script
Latest twrp will download n autoinstall. Than reboot phone
I fail too using fastboot commands

uncle i used goomanager to flash the latest twrp, but my phone still cant get into recovery~!
*
Did you see the download progress and thereafter installation process ?
It will definitely work - I use same method too on my other phones too
after reboot, shut down phone. Press vol down+power and you get into fastboot mode. Use vol buttons and select recovery n use power button to select
Or you can install free app Quickboot and select recovery instead of using the hard buttons

btw sifus, wanna ask

do i still need to flash superSU if i flash a custom rom in order to gain root access?
*
Not necessary as I believe most custom roms comes prerooted. If you dont have superSU, than just flash the supersu zip through recovery - small matter only

yeah i saw the message successfully installed recovery. ive check on xda about this problem, apparently some people having this problem too. instaed of booting into recovery their phone will just boot back into the rom. some say have to fastboot erase cache which ive done like 5 times, but still cant boot into recovery  mad.gif
*
did you disabled fastboot in settings/power first ? Try again if you did not

try cwm instead?
@benny888 thanks!
*
CWM is very much slower ( at least 50% to even 100% ) in backing and restoring roms
Rom backup is break into 2 folders - in the OBB folder , no way you can identify which are the actual roms backup - difficult to delete any unwanted rom backup when you wish to do so

About 1 hour checking, testing here and there, my final thought is "this is a beauty". I remember while i was having my old Htc HD2, this is what i imagine and hoping what htc phone will be in future. It is really the essence of HTC at an almost perfect manner (well, still some improvement needed in finishing parts especially at the side bezel, and also camera can be higher mp, well we know htc reserve for next phone). Glad that i chosen this over S4. And hey, i doesn't feel like wanna root and use custom rom at the moment. Liking the htc sense, its just very nice, i did not wish for more at the moment. I think this has totally surpassed iphone 5... Although i need to get use to the heightened keyboard lay out, miss type many times, lol.. i will keep my ipad for the ios needs (as a mac user, having ios device do bring sone benefits), but for a phone, One is the one. Glad with my purchase. smile.gif

(I know i'm a slowpoke, but just expressing my toughts) lol

Cheers to all One users!

Root it juts to get rid of the horrible 3 dot menu which appears in certain apps - reducing display size to only about 4.5 inch ; you can use Modaco mod to set the back button to display menu. Also can use vol key to wake screen - the off/on button at top is darn inconvenient to use especially if you have put on a casing
Rooting will also allow you to remove any of the bloatwares you dont need at all

so all we need to do is flash recovery, boot to recovery, (phone restarts) boot to recovery again?

the tampered thing is certainly something new.

It was already there since I last did on the HTC butterfly

anyone could share the gap between the top speaker there ? i not sure mine is it gap issue.

Take a photo and show us here
There shouldn't be any gap at all between top speaker and body. If there is , go and ask for replacement
This is mine

Just wondering for HTC Warranty in Malaysia. If I'm rooted and unlocked bootloader, if any hardware failure where obviously not caused by custom rom. Do the warranty still cover? Or any unlocked bootloader device will automatically means void warranty?

Cause I read from htcdev, it wrote "May void warranty" and read from xda, apprantly in US, if the hardware failure does not cause by unlocking bootloader they still help you to fix it. So, i wonder is it the same in Malaysia.
*
It is at HTC discretion. There are some One X users who manage to claim warranty for hardware issues if HTC feel is not due to BL unlock and rooted
I have my motherboard replace FOC about 4 years ago and phone was BL unlock and rooted
But once you unlock BL and rooted it, be mentally prepare warranty is void - if you are not ready to accept this DON"T unlock BL /root phone

This is really funny : buying a expensive spigen ultra thin case and worried phone will be scratched !! And even proposing using a scotch tape to protect the edges first before putting on the case !!!
Anyway back casing ( esp the HTC doubledip case) with potential to scratch this phone is commonly reported by many users at this hardwarezone forum
I will post my reply to them when I received my Spigen - I have order it from ebay yesterday for US$21

If only now you notice it, it shouldn't be a serious matter - right ?? If is serious, you would have seen it on day one the very minute you get hold of the phone
