But it's very steeply priced this time. You can't really use Niche Product, 808 PureView is also same, but it's priced at RM1899. Besides, if Nokia-Microsoft is looking to make a different in the market, they should price it right to grab more customers. Now there is much less people buying.
Imagine if the price really drop in very short time and drops a lot, what will the customers who bought it at launch price feel? I believe L800 and L920 early adopters may know the feeling?

It's a never ending cycle, but to wait for another PureView which replaces L1020 "category", may take another year? So, it won't hurt to wait 2-3 months, Christmas maybe or New Year, etc.
It's not a MUST for everyone to get it to become the 1st batch owner.

Besides, now I'm wondering how much will the AP set priced if the authorised set was priced so high. Previously there is one owner who bought online from oversea? Does it cost over RM2.4K?

I understood the feeling for first adopters of L920.
I was about to become one as well, but I decided to wait then only grab a Lumia 620 1-2 month after.

L920 was RM1,999 when announced in Jan,2014 (I assumed) then now (8 months later), RM1,419 @Superbuy.my
Yet, no bundled with Wireless Charging at Launch. A big big loss, that is all I can express for early adopters.

Still, I feel what is important is they continue to love their phone.

I think the owner is lkhoe.
He paid about RM2,400 inclusive permit but without Grip.

same statement, when windows phone with dual core release on the market with 8.0, all current windows phone with 1 core not able to update to 8.0.

So when 1520 release with quad core, i afraid next windows update will be for quadcore only, leaving the dual core wp die like the past of lumia first series.

The reason why WP7 could not upgrade to WP8 is not because of Processor Core, but the Programming Core aka Kernel. Like what xSean mentioned.

Well, there's something you can do. Teach them a lesson by not buying. When sales drops, inventory costs go up and they will suffer a blow when the next batch comes in. They will be forced to play nice with their pricing.

In the end, it's the end users who have the say. So, vote with your wallet.

I'm planning to do that - Currently On Strike until I cannot tahan or until I see reasonable price drop.

You? Getting one on Pre-Order/Nokia Store on 27/09?

that time new model coming out...so u will big heart small heart...

that's y i don't buy new model, get previous flagship model in more reasonable price...

let's say i buy 925 now and if ms say it release wp9 in 2015 with minimum 1gb ram to support but heavy features require 2gb ram...that time i also change phone liao...why care 925 support or not....

and those buy low entry with 512mb ram, don't complain if wp9 don't support it...if support also most new features won't be there...this is the trend, even u install to ios7 in iphone 4 also slow and many new features not supported...

I understand.
I have plan to get L920 Red/Yellow, shall 1020 still stubborn.
I don't like 925, in case anyone wonder.

I even saw someone selling theirs Used L920 Red @Lowyat Trading for about RM850 with a few months warranty left. Reasonable, I thought.

@Weirdguy, 920 is a very capable shooter itself if:

+ On a budget
+ Likely to change phone every year

Get 1020 if,

+ Taking really decent photos is your priority.
+ Decides to replace PnS/Mirrorless/DSLR with a one hand operated camera.
+ Always have to help wife carry shopping bags during travel.  whistling.gif

Thanks for your kind effort in putting the above biggrin.gif

After Amber Update, I fell even more in love with L920.
I believe it perform better in terms of colour, compare with L925.
I couldn't remember where I read that review.

I always love the design of L920, but I seriously seriously hope there is someone in Malaysia can make it Matt like L1020.

Why L920?
Yes, I'm on budget.
I do not wish to change every year. Waste of hard-earned money and savings. But I love the Matt of L1020. If I could apply that to my L920, I think I won't be buying another phone for another 2 years (maximum).

Why L1020?
Yes, I love beautiful photos.
No, I do not have PnS, DSLR or other Camera
Yes, I always the one and happy to carry bag when travel with my wife.

But if your goal is to  improve the quality of your daily casual shots compared to using say iPhone or Galaxy, 1020 is unbeatable.

That's my goal.
My definition: Photos are references to our memory as well, a way to refresh our memory of the events.

I too thought of having a matte l920 red but I can adapt, so far finger prints aren't much of a problem since I have a pouch to clean it.

That aside, you can always put on a case if you like.

Hehehe. You got me there.
I will do some research on that tonight, before I finalize my decision.

Between, how you plan to have Matt L920 Red?
All L920 Color is glossy, right?
