Sometime travel hardly say one, if u are the only camera man in the group, then u gonna shoot more than double of ur normal shot haha
*
yeah, totally agree.

last year i was travelling with my whole class, i am the only person with camera. end up i have to take almost 1 shot for each person at least.

No budget yet, so for now get a 50 1.8 to play first although really itching to get a 135 F2L.
50 1.8, consider kit lens bo?
Most probably laugh.gif

You sold off you d700 and all the nikon gears for 7D and 18-135?

About your pictures, they look quite good smile.gif Not sure how to comment on landscape or pano type of images, but I like 2nd picture the most. Cant help myself but the leaves on the top right corner of the 3rd picture is really distracting , maybe you should remove it or crop it tighter. The 4th picture looks like it has something missing, and I think the horizontal line is slanted to the left, the position of the boat going to the edge of the frame doesn't look that good.

Anyone went to KLPF today?

One of the shot of Sony showgirl. The lighting was really quite dark, had to use iso1600 f2.8 to get proper exposure.

QUOTE(KuzumiTaiga @ Oct 13 2013, 08:13 PM)
Hi guys, need help desperately on a few issues:

1) Bought my 700D and it came with a warranty card and the dealer (Aver Awards) refused to issue me receipt, would this affect my warranty claim for service if got any issue?

2) Tried shooting under M mode (Manual, right?) My images turn out pitch black, unless I set shutter speed to really really slow or with flash, I could see the image in the viewfinder, though.

3) I'm hearing a very soft "squeeze" sound whenever I flip my LCD, is that normal? Very soft, no issue with touchscreen or whatsoever, I hear that the touchscreen breaks really easily, do you guys think that's true?

Thanks
*
1)how can you buy something without getting a receipt? shouldn't affect the warranty claiming as long as you registered your camera online for warranty.

2)try to learn about reading the exposure meter on the bottom of the viewfinder or the middle of the screen, the correct exposure should be at 0, not -1 -2 -3 or +1 +2 +3, in your case, your exposure is too much off until the sensor can't even capture anything with the shutter speed you are using. what you see through the viewfinder does not equal to what your camera captures ever.

3) i am not a 700D owner but i can tell you touchscreen doesn't break that easily if handled with care, if not why bothering buying smartphones?

oh the same girl for today, brought my flashgun there, fired around 10 shots then it died, forgot to charge it sad.gif

most of the time the showgirls don't even look at me when i pointed my camera at them even after some time (i am using 70-200 which should be big enough to attract their attention), maybe it's because i am just a highschool boy tongue.gif

1) Sorry for the extremely dumb questions, i feel kind of stupid not requesting for receipt, too. doh.gif I was only focused on the warranty cards. Will head back to the shop to request again.

2) Thanks, believe it's rectified.

3) Alright.. but should I be worried of the sound when flipping or that's just normal as with other EOS DSLR's with vari-angled screens as well?
*
for 3), u mean a very high pitched "squek" sound? if it rotates smoothly then i think it is alright, if you still worried, you can always send it to Canon service center @petaling jaya.

Yes, a high pitched squek sound, is that normal? Hmm.. I guess I may schedule to visit the service centre sometime next week, but in the mean time would like to know if this is a normal thing and not something to get worried about..
*
shouldn't affect a lot even if it has the sound, it's common for plastic moving joints, even my flashgun has the same sound but i don't care about it as long as it tilts and turns smoothly.

EDIT: oooh another side question, shop provided me with only an 8GB Sandisk class 4, I have since bought a Kingston 16GB class 10, is the writing speed sufficient for movie shooting for 700D? Such as 1280 60FPS (btw, noticed that if I set camera under NTSC it's 60fps but PAL it'll be at 50fps, same thing?)
*
class 10 should be enough for video shooting up to 30 minutes. about the other question, i can't really answer since i don't take videos taht often.
