QUOTE(Arvinaaaaa @ Jun 24 2013, 09:57 AM) 4.2.2 is not official one and 100% for sure first 2 things they will look at when you send in.1. Your current ROM, official one or custom, other country or Malaysia specific. 2. Your phone status, modified, custom one or counter increase. If you don't believe, try it but remember on your own risk... And don't said I never warn you.. This post has been edited by nokia6280: Jun 24 2013, 11:21 AM |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Jun 24 2013, 10:09 PM) Then something went wrong already. One more step is wipe cache and factory reset, otherwise status in the phone will show "modified"Full stock firmware (unroot) should have 0 binary with normal status. Try reflash back your stock firmware but you need to root it first in order to use TA. 1) root your phone. 2) use TA to reset binary. 3) flash full stock firmware. |

QUOTE(neato4u @ Jun 25 2013, 01:27 PM) I'm getting around 8hrs usage with stock battery running 4.1.2 stock with 3g data and wifi constantly on. You 8 hours is completely flat or up to certain %? Screen on time around 1hrs plus .. Is this normal? Am considering custom ROM but unsure which one that gives good battery life. Here is my reading but not sure consider good or bad... QUOTE(Arvinaaaaa @ Jun 25 2013, 03:17 PM) Here you go..im not sure how to interpret the results. .so please tell me whether is it good, bad, better, worse or same..thanks QUOTE(YouDontKnowMyName @ Jun 25 2013, 03:31 PM) Thanks for the results and should be closed with 4.1.2 To gauge better results you may try below:- 1. Force close those apps that not suppose to stay in Applications manager-> services running, meaning your apps is doing some fishy action, cause apps like whatapps and antivirus required to stay awake for some action. 2. Go to task manager to clear RAM after done step 1 and press the apps button and return button to make the RAM stabile. 3. Run Antutu again.. Some face low reading is because either there are some heavy apps running without you knowing and also your have just clear your RAM and your phone is calling those needed Apps.. |

QUOTE(YouDontKnowMyName @ Jun 25 2013, 05:37 PM) in my opinion, benchmarks don't mean anything. I remember i mentioned before but just to reiterate, I use benchmarks to check is my phone running well and not dragging by some apps i installed recently, cause I do understand without tweaking our phone wouldn't go any faster The galaxy S4 can score super high in benchmarks, but the overall smoothness and fluidity of the OS is not as smooth as other phones (xperia Z, Htc One). It's really a matter of whether or not the performance is optimised for the phone or not. Plus, in my experience when our phones first came with 4.0.4, the benchmark scores were higher (I got about 6.9k in Quadrant back then). Then when 4.1 came out, the benchmark scores were lower (Quadrant gave me 6.2k with Jelly Bean) but I felt that the performance of the OS was significantly smoother. Apps loaded faster and homescreen felt smoother. Probably due to Project Butter and perhaps some optimisation too Talking about S4, base on my own understanding Samsung always trying to show differences by introducing some stock apps as the gimmick to attract their customer but in order to run those apps power machine is a must, as the result you will feel slow even with so power phone. I really like S4 stock new features but if porting over without lightening it 100% for sure will kill S3. If i were Samsung before releasing every single version, first thing is new feature that is light weight. Otherwise no matter how powerful is the phone be user will for sure feeling slow. QUOTE(mtxx @ Jun 25 2013, 06:45 PM) just tested antutu, i get 15884 good scrore..not sure that number is good or bad. speaking of s4, i saw one in show room. i very naughtly turn it off, and do a boot test. my friend was with me, so we booted all three phones at the same time. s3, note 2, and s4. all also stock display set. note 2 and s3 show lock screen in about 30 seconds, s4 50 seconds only show lock screen. i totally canot brain why s4 slower than older gen phone. the s4 on display is kindda laggy. i already turn off all the smart gesture. duno why. probably display unit got problem |
