QUOTE(YouDontKnowMyName @ Jun 17 2013, 02:38 AM) They just swapped my phone housing with a brand new one. Bro... since this your repeated case and i believed they will have your records. If i were you i will go to bang table for the very last time to try my luck for the very last free change They just blamed the cracks formed because of the casing that I'm using. First time it happened, I was using a Rock brand hard plastic casing (frankly it was pretty hard and solid so I believed them) Second time it happened, I switched to Rock QuickSand casing (I figured it would be better since it was made of much softer soft-touch material. This time I was starting to doubt it's the casing fault) Third time it happened, I was using a generic no brand thin flimsy plastic casing (which is as flimsy and soft as paper) This time, I purposely used my phone naked to eliminate all possible casing related causes. Yet it has happened again, for the fourth time even though my phone has been NAKED since the last warranty claim ------------------------------------------------- I only dropped my phone twice before (both times when my phone was within 2 months old). But neither of those drops caused any cracking. Since then I have been very careful not to drop my phone or cause any impact to the phone (so far haven't drop it anymore since then The first crack only appeared when my phone was approximately 5 months old. Feel like sending an official complaint, but I doubt they will do anything since it's not covered under warranty as it is an exterior damage. The 3 times that I managed to claim warranty was because the people at the service centre were helpful and kind. They helped me claim under warranty even though the T&C said otherwise. In that respect, kudos to Samsung service centre for having excellent customer service I don't blame Samsung as I seem to be one of the only people who constantly face this problem over and over again. Just bad luck I guess But bang with skill and professional lah.. |

QUOTE(mtxx @ Jun 16 2013, 10:56 PM) SDS stand for Sudden Death Syndrome and this is a common term use nowadays to indicate a phone die without noticed. For Samsung S3 it was very common to early batch from May 2012 to late Jun 2012, in short those who brought during launch date. So far no concrete root cause and many speculate following:- 1. Only effecting early batch from May 2012 to late Jun 2012 but many early batch still running strong. 2. Many said due to insane Chip in early set but this is only one developer speculation base on information gathered. 3. Many said due to overnight charging but smart phone should cut off when charge is full. 4. Many believe latest 4.1.2 will fix the problem but some believe harm already started and FW upgrade will only slow them down. 5. Many said latest MOBO eliminate the problem but someone who change MOBO to latest version M.P. 1.5 die twice. 6. Many scared and sold their phone in early stage. 7. Many hope to get SDS before warranty expired, like me 8. Many said due to Custom ROM but Stock user also facing the same problem. |

Just called Samsung Hotline to find out more and following is the result:-
1. Ask me to bring my phone back to check 2. SDS will only happen if you are not in latest FW 3. If you phone is able to boot up after whatever way you do like put out battery and bla.. bla.. then should be no problem. 4. Normally what they do is re-flash the ROM to believe will solve the problem. 5. If after warranty and SDS, :opps: we need to pay to get it fixed.. PS: I hope mine Death before Warranty expired. |
