reason why people don't want to employ freshie....(especially network engineer)
1. Need to train a lot of things....(even though u have CCNA or CCNP...'coz to many 'paper' certificate, just like MCSE)
2. Even they hire u, u won't stay long 'coz once you have experienced, u will jump to other company...

someone told me.....dunno how true ???

Try looking for smaller companies that need IT ppl. Even in IT support or IT sales (like in lowyat shops) or other smaller business entities.
Basic pay would be Rm1600 to RM2000. It helps if u r conversant in english, both spoken and written. Be well read...
If u have some $$$, go buy yrself a spare PC or two, a cheap hub/switch, and go blow yrself nuts on it. Then try going door 2 door offering ppl for free PC checkup. This will give u some needed exposure and experience u can boast abt in an interview. (ie: freelance network consultant engineer) Remember to sell yrself well in yr resume AND during interview. be confident and use as much simple english as possible..no computer jargons as employers may be afraid you cant communicate will with the end users (eg troubleshoot and end user training)
Hope this helps smile.gif

CCNA is really useless and worthless in the market. According to my friend who is a CCNP with 1 year exp, can only get RM2200. whistling.gif doh.gif

you should try to get a Juniper cert, because according to the CCNP friend, he got a friend with 1 year exp also who is JCIA only already can get RM5000 with Telokom Malaysia. drool.gif I think should be because of not much ppl know how to operate Juniper devices in TM. laugh.gif

talking from experience lah..
its true lots of company prefer experience personnel..
but if you are fresh grad.. you might consider this..
when applying jobs.. apply for tecnician first instead shooting application as an engineer. i see including some of my friend that just finished studying applying for post like enginner and stuff cause the have degree. even thou you got degree /bach or higher. without proper experience. you just only pro in your educational life. but in real working life.. a lot of thing is not quite a same as what your learn before. trust me.. you learn in uni/ college by sequal ABCDEFG and so on.. but when you working..its kindda diffrent. you do not according to sequal.

be patient applying job. its true your qualification worth and RM 3K job.and job as a technician/ support is lesser pay and you think your educational qualification is higher than that. even for me with qualification & 3 yrs IT experience.. my salary still not reaching 2K.. but i'll keep improving myself to achive it..

Still RMK 9 got less IT involvement in it. so i'll think you know what will happen then.

my advise is for fresh grad and also not-so experience guys to reach out any opportunity ahead. go as a technician first. lesser pay but load of knowledge and new skill. since you are the "tech" person.. apply on a smaller company since you got lots of applicant rival at a bigger company.. when you get enuff experience..jump ship if there is an opportunity.. but dont jump alot. people might think something else.

back to the topic.. network got lots of diversity in it. wheter civil type or infront of PC type.. you decide.. as for me.. field work is the best..i miss it a lot. its so boring monitoring the busiest internet line in malaysia..
