how much the price will be if
16 GB WiFi with LTE...
*
There won't be 16GB LTE. The old Nexus 7 also has 3G only for 32GB version. Maybe google thinks someone who has the cash for 3G/4G will want one with 32GB too.

QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Aug 13 2013, 07:28 PM)
Dude, read properly. it's mentioned
3 versions will be avaiable:-

1. 16 GB WiFi for US$229
2. 32 GB WiFi for US$269
3. 32 GB WiFi with LTE for US$349
*
He's looking for 16GB LTE. There's no 16GB LTE doh.gif

I have downloaded the factory image, I have a question here, does pushing the image wipe the ddevice? Do I use wug toolkit to do it? I have searched the Internet but can't really seem to find the answer.
*
No matter which nexus device, flashing whole factory image wipes whole phone including any picture/music files.

fastboot flash every .img file in factory image except userdata.img to prevent that.

guys i got a stupid question to ask, forgive me. Can i download whatapp and wechat on N7? sorry i never own a tablet before

QUOTE(Andrew_1980 @ Aug 28 2013, 09:41 PM)
Of coz you can, google play store got it
*
Not sure about wechat but Whatsapp needs workaround to make it work.

You can't just straight install it from Playstore. This is the case for first gen Nexus 7 (even the 3G first gen also need workaround). Not sure for Nexus 7 2013.

QUOTE(rulmufc @ Sep 5 2013, 07:21 PM)
Hi guys,

I just get my nexus 7 today. I would like to know how do we charge the tablet because my friend said voltage in USA is different than us. Do we have to buy something to convert the voltage? USA 110, Malaysia 220 right? So is there any problem if we charge directly here in Malaysia? Thanks.
*
As long as you charge it using Micro USB, it's alright.

Micro USB has standardized 5V output with varied current. Most phones using 1A. Some using 1.2A (Nexus 4). Samsung black micro usb charger is a 0.8A while S4 and Note 2 started using 2A charger.

Tablets normally 1.5A to 2A.

The problem is just with the adaptor. Check the adaptor. It's written there the input it takes. Normally should be 110/220V. If that's the case, it's safe to use the charger. The output must be 5V and 1.5A (IINM, Nexus 7 2013 uses 1.5A).

You can use just basically any micro usb charger. The charging rate will be different. Nothing else.

Slimport instead of MHL.

Slimport adapter is very very expensive doh.gif

the n7 itself got mention its input is 5.2V, 1.35A , the original adapter also got mention the output is same as the n7 input
[attachmentid=3616700]
so dun try other adapter, coz other one is 5V output only
*
5V or 5.2V both will work. I don't have one so I'm not sure about the details. Thanks for clarification.

I don't think that 0.2V matters. It'll just charge slower if you use an adapter say... 5V 1A.

?. You do no need to change anything. It came with adapter. Just use travel adapter as we are using 3 pin.

Been doing that for my N7 ver 1 and Gen2 (for a month). Some more, mine is from US-Google Play directly
*
Oh... Will take note of that if I'm going to buy one brows.gif

It does with the power ratings
It also relate with ur battery wear life
*
If over 5.2 yes maybe it do damage your battery. But lower will do no harm smile.gif Just slower charging.

I got share something to the Y480 thread before about the laptop charging
It's low power will damage battery , high power still okay than low power
*
laugh.gif Not sure about that. Maybe you're right.

Anyway, normal battery has a nominal voltage of far lower than 5V.

According to ifixit
QUOTE
The battery is rated at 3.8 V, 15 Wh, and 3950 mAh.

So... At 5V, you're still charging it at higher voltage than the battery. A normal battery for phone/tablet rated at 3.7/3.8V should max out at 4.2V when fully charged.

I still think 5/5.2V doesn't matter biggrin.gif

1.6k??!! What makes them think one would shell out that much and not add a bit more for Z Ultra?
*
The price difference between US and Europe LTE model is quite huge...

It's 349 USD for the US model, 349 Euro for the UK model.

Direct conversion using Google based on the currency conversion rate now (very very low rate doh.gif), it's RM1153 for the US model, RM1517 for the EU model.

So 1.2k and 1.6k prices are good actually. They didn't earn much by importing it and selling at that price. The initial price and the currency conversion rate already not so good, can't expect the price in Malaysia to be good right?

I tried MxPlayer, there is no audio. Now VPlayer works like a charm. So I'll just use VPlayer.

Try to toggle between HW Audio and SW Audio decoder. Sometimes it can't decode in HW but can decode in SW

Where in pj or kl can I get nexus 7 2013 for USd 229?
*
No way. You need to pay extra to those who import it from US at 229. Importing yourself also cost more than 229 for the postage from US to M'sia and to apply for SIRIM.

I don't think Asus will sell it here at $229 ~ RM762 too.

Your best bet is to get from Garage Sales. RM850~RM900 or more for 16GB. Around 1000 for 32GB wink.gif

"Bootloop"

Try to reboot. If still fails, you have to try factory reset or maybe wipe cache/dalvik cache before factory reset.

Worse comes to worst, flash factory image. Don't worry biggrin.gif

Difference between first generation and second generation.

Btw, Newegg don't ship to Malaysia directly from their US store. You have to go through Newegg Malaysia to get them shipped in.

Newegg Malaysia do bring in Nexus 7 2nd gen to sell with ready stock. 16GB out of stock though. Prices are 899 (16GB) 999 (32GB)

QUOTE(jpaq @ Sep 10 2013, 04:20 PM)
Just decided to "tembak" and enquire with Asus Malaysia via their FB. Messaged them. Asked about RRP of the LTE model, official availability in Malaysia and whether it supports both 1800 and 2600 LTE.

They only answered one question: RRP for LTE model is RM1299. They also mentioned RRP of another model for RM999. However, they did not specify 16GB or 32GB for that RM999 quote. In any event, kudos to them for fast response (within 2 hours).

Thanked them and repeated my questions again for my other two queries. See whether any reply or not...
*
hmm.gif 1299 quite good price! About the price of Mega 6.3 biggrin.gif

Hope 999 is the 32GB. Also hope that they bring in 16GB at 899 biggrin.gif Greedy? That's human tongue.gif

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Sep 10 2013, 04:21 PM)
LTE for RM1299 is abit on the high side.  hmm.gif
*
Not really considering that the US price 349USD = RM1142, EU price 349EURO = RM1513. Assume you can get it in after paying SIRIM/courier/whatever at the expense of RM100 (which is impossible unless you import in bulk). The price of RM1242 and RM1613 still make the RRP of 1299 very reasonable!

Besides that, take note that... US Set can only be used on 1800 MHz spectrum while Euro set can be used on both 1800 MHz and 2600 MHz.

Malaysian telco uses both 1800 MHz and 2600 MHz with most of the telco on 2600 MHz, you better get one with 2600 MHz support.

and since Asus is bringing it in to sell locally, they will probably bring in the EU variant since it supports both 1800 and 2600. Unless Asus is stupid enough to bring in the US variant then I've no comment biggrin.gif

However, not the JP version. sad.gif

Supported here but US version, at the time being can only be used on Celcom or Maxis. Only celcom and maxis support 1800. Other telco like digi, umobile, redtone, whatever else use 2600.
