Doesn't matter if we have the money or not. What matters is whether or not we're attractive enough for these "stellar" players. Money-wise, even Arsenal declared that Wenger has like what, 70m transfer fund? Will players like Messi or Ronaldo want to join them just because Arsenal can afford them?

QUOTE Manchester United say they are not planning to hand unsettled striker Wayne Rooney a new contract. But manager David Moyes has again stressed that the England man, who has been linked with Chelsea and Paris St-Germain, is very much part of his plans for the upcoming season. Rooney, who has had to leave United's pre-season tour with a hamstring injury, has two years left on his current contract but an extension is not on United's agenda. Chief executive Ed Woodward said: "No contract renewals are being discussed. I am not sitting down with any player on an extension and there is no trigger date in the diary. "Would we be afraid to run a contract down? Of course not." However, Moyes still sees Rooney as a key figure at Old Trafford and said: "I think he's got a major role to play, because we need to get as many goals as we possibly can. "I think Wayne can play up-top, he can play dropped in. If for any reason we had an injury to Robin (van Persie) we're going to need him and I want to be able to play the two of them. "It's a chance for me to get Wayne right back to where he was. That's a challenge I want to take on. "But I've also got to make sure we don't just concentrate on him. Manchester United isn't about Wayne Rooney. "Manchester United is about the team, the club. What I won't allow is Wayne Rooney to become more important than the football club." http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11...ter-United-deal |

Who wouldn't jump a chance to play for United? We are one of the most popular brand in the world, playing for United will boost their popularity even more, in terms of commercial and a great history backing them, I don't see why would any player refuse to join United should they come hunting for them? United can offer Bale Champions League football and chances of him winning a trophy will be higher compared to Real Madrid and the plus point of joining United is because we are a British club and Bale is a Welsh, Giggs is a good example. Arsenal is a different story, trophy-less for 8 seasons in a row (not bashing, it is real facts), a real example of RVP jumping ship and won a title within his very first season? Even if DM is not attractive to major stars, the history of Manchester United tells a story. As they say, no personnel is bigger than Manchester United. |

We are one of the most popular brand in the world, playing for United will boost their popularity even more, in terms of commercial and a great history backing them, I don't see why would any player refuse to join United should they come hunting for them? Usually when we're competing in the transfer market, it is against the likes of Madrid, Bayern, Barcelona. Those clubs are rich with history, tradition, and have butt loads of trophies in their cabinet as well. As of recently, we're lacking the oomph factor compared to these clubs. Oomph factor nowadays, IMHO, depends a lot on performances in European club tournament and also the number of star players in a side.United can offer Bale Champions League football and chances of him winning a trophy will be higher compared to Real Madrid and the plus point of joining United is because we are a British club and Bale is a Welsh, Giggs is a good example. QUOTE(Rhadykall @ Jul 14 2013, 11:34 AM) are you sure? gry was replying to moon's post which mentions nothing about comparing mu and eve. dude replied to moon's post about what went wrong in last night's match and how mu will fare in the coming season if they're judged by last night's performance. where does rooney and mu/eve academy come into play in that particular post? My point is, he always bashing when united lose, not convincing with moyes, bla bla bla but not even know rooney not from united academy.Last season he said after united lose against (i forgot which team), he hope MU sack SAF. Haha funny this kid |

with deal for Thiago went sour, i think we should blow St James' park's door and go for Cabaye
or we should raid Dortmund for Sven |

How Thiago would fit in assuming everyone in Bayern Munich, as of now, is staying. The midfield breaks down like this:
Defensive midfielders: Bastian Schweinsteiger, Javi Martinez, Luiz Gustavo, Toni Kroos, Emre Can, David Alaba. Right wing: Arjen Robben, Thomas Mueller, Xherdan Shaqiri. Left wing: Franck Ribery, Shaqiri, David Alaba. Central attacking midfielder: Mario Goetze, Mueller, Kroos, Ribery, Claudio Pizarro, Schweinsteiger. |

this is all the media's fault, for gettin our hopes up of course
the best way is to not be expecting any signing.. like last season, suddenly sign RVP |

Think back, Thiago rumor start before 1st July, so I belip Moyes, Thiago not really his target
At least go get Afroman la Moyes, we have no one that score header from corner or free kick right noe |

not really a fan of Fellaini, but after Alcantara gone to Bayern, Fellaini is a welcome addition.

go for Fellaini AND Strootman. With Moyes influence, Fellaini won't hesitate for that...as for Strootman, Van Persie's success and other Dutchmen who played for us in the past speak all.
Thiago to Bayern, who doesn't want to join up with old boss when Pep is knocking at his door. For sure if I am Thiago I will do so. Hahaha...if blame Moyes why not blame De Gea for not follow up call with Thiago...hahaha |

QUOTE(JohnnyBeGud @ Jul 15 2013, 02:09 AM) wanted to leave Barcelona for more game time, leaves for a team with arguably a more competitive midfieldgood luck getting ahead of Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Martinez, Muller and Gotze in the pecking order Finally the saga ends , I'll rather have a player who wants to play for the club than someone not to Good luck for his future.. |

always miss out on samba(l) style players, guess spicy foods are not meant for utd eh?
pray hard carrick will stay fit for the rest of d season... we are not short of d options for his partner in the middle, thou quality wise is another issue. if Adnan & Powell will feature regularly, I think we dont really need any attacking minded CM. gettin a backup/successor for carrick is more important i guess... still hope for Ronnie to come back to us thou, it's been a while since we last had winger(s) can torture opponent's fullbacks... |
