I am going to US around mid July or later for 3 months.
Should I buy Oculus Quest or Valve Index?

Yeah.. VR in Malaysia is more costly than US. Not many people would like to use VR regularly.
You could check out reddit for a more lively community.
I would suggest to hold off Oculus quest unless your really know what you want and/or have the currency to splash.
Oculus Quest is a year old and as per most mobile hardware, goes out of date quick. Performance was always the bottle neck and battery life is only 2-3 hours.

Wrong.
First of all, Oculus Quest was released on May 21, 2019, not yet a year old.

Secondly, Quest is selling like hot cake and out of stock basically everywhere.
Oculus is struggling to manufacture enough of them, especially with recent coronavirus outbreak. https://uploadvr.com/facebook-coronavirus-quest/
So it is unlikely there will be new version from Oculus soon.

Thirdly, Quest is fully portable and you can play anywhere.
With new updates such as hand tracking and Oculus Link (use it with PC), it is one of the VR headset to buy at $399.
Valve Index at $999 might be better for quality but it is not portable, not to mention the difficulty in setting up the lighthouse, and you need a powerful PC.

Later on PSVR 2 coming out once PS5 is out. Would be interesting the see how VR interest are on that platform. It's growing steadily, but I still wish there is more full fledge games for VR.

At least Valve is trying with Half Life. Hope more devs jumps in as well.

PSVR 2 probably not so soon.
But there are some good news

Could this be PS5's new PSVR 2 display? Probably not, and here's why.
