just go to counter and sample before you buy. Also you should have more than 1 bottle for usage on different occasions tongue.gif
*
i do actually, always have my cool water, my Fahrenheit, my armani code, never had the chance to truely deplete any bottle before i buy a new one, maybe i'm less hardcore than most ppl here but hey i still think i spend way too much on ephemeral things compared to normal ppl.

You're talking to someone who has 30 bottles of perfume and  counting tongue.gif

coz i have that many moods
*
that's why i mention i'm less hardcore sifu. for me, i just like to smell good, i like smell of fresh unwrapped books, morning dew on flowers, i always sniff a girl when they give me a hug, and if they catches me they will teased me as being a pervert, my close buddies is already aware of this habit of mine and let me take a full seep when i give them bro-hug. ahahah creepy but in reality i just wished more ppl around me appreciate these kind of thing that provide instant and simple pleasure to one of your highly disregarded senses.

QUOTE(Joey-kun @ Apr 20 2014, 03:10 PM)
Met up with Anige last fri and she passed me a sample of Secretions Manifiques!

You wanna know what it smells like? Imagine this:

You see a stain on the bathroom wall. You go and sniff. And it's last week's 'ammo' that you missed out from cleaning.

That is what SM smells like. It opens with a disgusting lavender and lemon blend which gives it the cold, metallic fishy accord. It then goes down to a bit of vetiver with blackcurrant which only makes things a little worse. Finally, iris and musk appear to make it really sensual.

It makes me wanna puke when i smell it but its not exactly that stinky. I dont find it stinky like poo or rubbish but there's just something in there that makes my stomach turn...

*
it sounded like you're describing a full 3 course dinner puke. a very vivid description indeed.

To my nose, D&G The One has sweet and citrusy opening and slowly lead to warm and spicy base
The tobacco is in its vein. Hmm.. I not really hate it but not liking it haha
I prefer dreamer over this biggrin.gif
In my opinion, The One is too soft and its performance is not really impressive
But overall it is a nice and safe scent

the longevity is a very short one?

It's a very woody/sweet scent, and very close to Gucci Pour Homme 1. Very incensy. Not my type of scent tho.
*
maybe i'll just wait until one of my bottle to finish before i make a purchase, maybe issey miyake too.

Btw there is packaging error on the Lumiere Noire Femme: the cap should come in gold rather than in grey. Now if you were me, would you go back to MFK to ask for an exchange?
*
yes i would.

I want to try others because I'm new to the designer fragrance world, searching for signature scent. I just think DHI is meant for dates and night out not all day fragrance. Any suggestion?

wow open my eyes watching all the youtube vids on perfume.

one the things i picked up not to wear during first dates
le male
cool water
one million
aqua di gio
armani code

cause it can remind girls of their ex? too mainstream perhaps ( i myself still have the armani code and cool water)
am sick of cool water for now but armani code is still a viable date frag for now.

Yup. That's what I said before. Reason being they are popular and been popular for many years. Chances are high that the ex of the girl(s) you're dating wore it before. With that said, I'm not saying they are bad. Like you said, just try avoid it on your first date if you wanna leave a good first impression. My bottom line has always been, wear whatever your heart desires biggrin.gif

still am watching youtube to expand my knowledge, oh and i just picked up the dior intense homme from that guy just now, don't think ill be getting the dng the one. just like Fahrenheit , i fell in love at first sniff, but then again only certain few would appreciate my fahrenheit.

wonder why ppl (maybe its just my circle of frens) is not fazed when they took a whiff of my fahrenheit sad.gif (but then again i can't say i know many ppl at my workplace alone who appreciate a good scent when they encounter one)

probably gonna be a bi annual thing for me to buy perfume instead of yearly now, so many frag to try, interested in so many especially thierry mugler a men.

On top of YouTube videos, there are many fumeblogs you can read. PerfumePosse is among one of my favorites. I highly recommend reading their Perfume 101 and 201 for a start :-
- http://perfumeposse.com/2006/05/30/perfume...-of-an-atomizer
- http://perfumeposse.com/2007/09/24/perfume-201-draft

It basically just summed up my many hours of reading through basenotes and fragrantica.

Dior Fahrenheit is a classic. A polarizing scent. Many either love/hate it for the famous gasoline accord. Glad that you like it. I couldn't see myself wearing it though. With that said, I prefer the Absolute flanker, which unfortunately I heard has been discontinued.

I have a "perfume" fund, where I regularly save a small sum of $ to. You could also fund your hobby by selling decants locally or internationally. Oh yeah, surrendertochance.com also belongs to PerfumePosse that sells decants, which some of us are their regular customers. Decantshop.com is another one I recently just made a purchase from. They currently have promotion going on until 30th April midnight CST :-
- http://www.decantshop.com/promotions

Above all, it's an expensive hobby. Don't break your bank for it and always sample first before buying a full bottle biggrin.gif
*
umm i think i had bigger problem than that, guitar purchasing every single year, if only i can abstain myself on that.

what a good read that was! and musky is like powdery smell i imagined?

i am very intrigued with oud, vetiver and leather. indeed i could now be a bit adventurous and be a bit more specific on future scents after that short read! thanks alot buddy!

Encre Noire is very very intriguing, simple 4 notes, plus the un-ostentatious bottle is just classy. what's the comments you get from guys/gals when you wear it?
