i can comment on just this one.

yr onkyo 646 can do dtshdma/ddtrue hd... and dts:x if firmware is updated (i think).

i been using it with onkyo 706, looking to buy a new 747 or 757.

himedia q5ii going back 3 years can do dtshhma and ddtruehd with those 40gb files playback, so no worries. biggrin.gif

2 yr old q16 can do dd atmos, i believe.

and yes, it will be nice if q5pro can do dts:x too - this, i need confirmation too.

Thank you for inquiry.

1). Below spec having in Q10 Pro but not in Q5 Pro :
16GB EMMC Flash
LED Panel and Smart Touch-Key
Aluminum Housing and Low-noise Fan ( for HDD Cooling )
Initiative Clamshell Internal 3.5'HDD Docking Design

2).Yes, some of the audio codec have been support by Himedia since last few generation, there is no doubt about it. More detail of the supported codec could be found at the below link :
http://www.futeko.com/products/MP068.php

3). user posted image
Video File Format: FLV, MOV, AVI, MKV, TS, M2TS, MP4, 3GP, MPG, 3D MVC, BDISO/BDMV Blu-ray Simple Navigation

4). Dune is different product, there is no compatibility relationship.

5). Not really. Dune is traditional media player, Q10 pro is Android TV player, beside play the role of media player, it do Android online streaming and running other android apps functions such as file management, email, screen mirroring and etc.

6). Yes.

7). Yes. 7.1 is not new to Himedia, it has been support since last generation.

8). Streaming over network is not just depend on the end point, you need to have good WLAN or LAN, good performance NAS. Q10 Pro is already equipped with the best IO such as gigabit Ethernet and dual band 802.11ac WiFi. The streaming throughout has no questions if you have good backend network.

If you just mounted the newly bought SATA disk for first time, you need the below two steps :

1). Initialize the disk to MBR / GPT partition.
2). Format the disk to NTFS file system.

To save the above job, you may ask the Sata Disk seller to do it for you. If you would like to explore by yourself, please follow the below steps.

a). Get ready high speed USB cable(Tyoe B) as per below photo. Typically you could find this type of USB from your USB printer.
[attachmentid=7207585]

b). Connect your Q10 Pro to your Laptop USB port as per below photo.
[attachmentid=7207586]

c). Power on your Q10 Pro and Laptop.

d). Goto your Windows Control Panel -> Administrative Tools
[attachmentid=7207588]

e). Select Computer Management
[attachmentid=7207592]

f). Select disk management, you will noticed "Not Initialize" disk which is your new hard disk. The below photo show the G drive is the "Not Initialize" disk.
[attachmentid=7207607]

P/S : If you could not find the "Not Initialize" disk, most probably the disk is not mounted properly or the disk has been initialized and partitioned before. Snap the screen and PM to me, I will help you to identify.

g). Right click the "Not Initialize" disk, select "initialize disk".
[attachmentid=7207609]

h). The below screen will appear.
[attachmentid=7207612]

If your hard disk capacity is 2TB and below, please choose MBR partition.
If your hard disk capacity larger than 2TB, please choose GPT partition.

i). After initialized the disk, you could noticed the disk status changed from "Not Initialize" to "Online". You can see the total disk space but "Unallocated"
[attachmentid=7207633]

j). Right click the word "Unallocated", select "New Simple Volume".
[attachmentid=7207635]

j). Select NTFS file system and click Next start formatting the hard disk. If you tick "Perform a quick format", the format will complete in minutes. If you do not tick "Perform a quick format", the format process will take longer time.
[attachmentid=7207637]

k). Your hard disk is ready to use, reboot your Q10 Pro and it should detect the new disk in your Q10 Pro now. Try copy files to your hard disk to verify.
*
Then, if my hard disk capacity is 2TB and below and I choose MBR partition. So, what is the next step after "h" as frm your teaching step?
