I'm aware some people just don't RTFM. However, to state that one can't find stuff on Google, then it WILL be interesting to see the search term and the thought process behind that search term whistling.gif

If it was of something more complicated, I am with you. But what he needed to know required a few taps on the phone to find out and that was after he was guided as well.

Furthermore, if he takes the trouble to explore by 'playing' with the phone which one should do anyway, those questions need not be asked at all.

Sorry I appear to be over agitated by this but I just want those in similar situations to know not to be such.

I am going to say this last thing to you. We are in a community where we help when we can but not those who just do not know their place. Let's just see how much help you will get from hereon given your attitude.

Boot Animation Paradise for your Android Device
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/boot...android-device/

The default boot animations on any device, no matter which manufacturer, are generally pretty bland and boring, which is probably why many of us dedicate an unreasonable amount of our time in our quest for the ‘perfect’ boot animation to greet us every time we turn on our device. Well, there is good news, as XDA Forum Member Vincent8111 has compiled nearly 400 boot animations into one program for our pleasure and convenience.

The BootAnimation Changer runs on Windows PCs and delivers an extensive collection of boot animations spanning a multitude of different themes. Animations can be sorted either by name or file size, and range from the opening sequence of The Simpsons, to anime, to colorful abstract patterns, and of course, our beloved Android mascot. If you would like to see the entire boot animation, you can conveniently do so with the preview button and window.

A forumer here reminds me of ANOTHER Note 2 user that I know in real life.

So I got a phone call from this acquaintance of mine, so this she asked me how do I turn off the phone (Note 2)

So I replied "you see the button on the right, where you wake up your phone, press and hold it"

The next thing she asked was "THEN?"

Sometimes, when people ask you a very very dumb question, i'll always ponder, why did the person ask, was he or she testing my intelligence or trolling or just plain stupid

That's the curse of people working in IT. The field is so broad but people tend to lump us all together. It also indicates that people actually don't know anything about computing but are given so much computing power yet they don't know better uses for it.

Like that article I put in post 4 by Alan Kay. doh.gif

Guys, is there like a good practice to leave certain amount of storage empty? Say, for a 64GB sd card, can I use up all of it?
External hard disk?

Any safe amount?

For cards and hard disks, no, you can fill it up. Short answer, no problem.

Long answer, it depends on your media. Magnetic media have no problem. Flash media like SDcards also don't have any major problem although I was told that you should fill it up, then format it and refill it again.

For SSD (the flash Hard disks), filling it all up with MPGs/JPGs etc is a bad idea due to performance issues, but no practical usability issues.

Some deep technical stuff that I half-heartedly pay attention to tongue.gif
