Can i ask a question for GTI user? if let say u didn't day2 rev kao kao , normal drive , just test the car on weekend (as u keep rev , u need to pay for oil money too =.=")

For this kind of user , the DSG will become more reliable? Or also will bring problem even we keep the RPM always below 5k

There is nothing wrong to rev your car's engine. You need to redline it once in a while to clear the carbon deposits in the engine. If you are seriously going to get a GTI and then not rev it up, might as well get a Golf TSI. The GTI is built for speed and fun. Also the GTI's DSG (6-speed wet clutch) is a lot more reliable than the Golf TSI (7-speed dry clutch)

52 litres for 400km?  shakehead.gif , usually RM100 should get atleast 500km if driven gently

Honestly, at that price, I would go for the Golf GTI Mk6 instead. You get more power and more bang for buck.

Why the Mk6 GTI? It has more power, a more reliable DSG gearbox and its more fun

Maintenance is higher too..

Anyway the price drop is mainly due to VGM Offer RM20K rebate on MK6.. And maybe the better performance of MK7 & facelift. That's why a huge drop in MK6.

Most of the MK7 buyer is MK6 owner.. Well at least on our side..

Well since he is comparing between the Polo GTI at his budget range, the Mk6 GTI is better in my personal opinion. I don't think the maintenance cost is that much significantly higher.

You know we had a wet day yesterday, and after collecting my car from VW (FINALLY) and few trips to KL, after I arrived home and notice this:

Yes, water vapour went into both the headlights.

Any idea bros? It went off after the weather starts to get warm

Taiming Chain would be more costly to repair , but chain is always reliable than belt?

Very important that you took this picture. Send it to your SC and tell them to claim for a new set of headlamps. Tell them to inform you when the part is in the workshop, then only drive over to get them replaced.

Hope this info helps.

Hi Meng, I am an existing PGTI owner myself - 8 months and I've already clocked 20,000km. There are both pros and cons to the car, but I've had a good experience so far. In terms of fixes, I've had the radiator replaced (under warranty) due to slight crack and have also recently had my mecha and gearbox replaced as part of the DSG7 recall.

Apart from some rattling noises in-cabin, the car drives well and I push it hard 40% or more of the time. I am happy driving. If you are keen on a PGTI which hasn't been modded, I know a red, 5-door unit who's owner is considering selling (not sure if sold yet) his as he just bought a 3rd car.

As with buying used, always look at the car in person and request for a test drive when possible. For a car that's <5 years, apart from wear and tear issues, there's generally not very much else to look out for.

Thank you so much for the reply bro, appreciate your feedback and sorry for the late reply as i am not active in the forum usually.

Anyway, i've decided to get the new MK7 Golf GTi instead and my loan is under processing now, waiting for bank to call up any time. Hopefully everything runs smooth.

Btw, do you have any idea if VW Malaysia will introduce the 230ps Performance version? The one we have now is 220ps, 350nm torque.

if not wrong that car haven't been remap, only used racechip before.
to be honest i would rather get golf mk6 GTI (better engine & gearbox),
it's around 139k on mudah (probably a lot less next year  nod.gif )
usually it's the piping become loose near the water reservoir

Congrats on your purchase bro! You will love the new car. Did you include in the tech package?

I heard the performance pack might only come in next year but it isn't confirmed yet.

better to wait for Performance Pack,
mechanical LSD does have some difference
and bigger brakes too

same story like mk6 GTI,
first few batch only 17" wheels, no sunroof, no DRL headlamp & rcd310
the SE version came in later with 18" wheels, sunroof, DRL headlamps & RCD510
