Good to know! Cos I was shocked when they told me RM800+. I was told spark plugs are to be changed too? Well it's another 5 - 6 months before I hit the 30k service!

went to Swire Motors last weekend, got the info from SA right now all VW comes with 5 years VGM warranty, nomore Allianz in the picture. Not sure how true is this, maybe any of the VW owner can clarify that.

Also, there is a pre-reg 2013 GTi avaiable at Swire Motors, black color, 188k+

Considering to buy either a Passat or Tiguan. Would like to know if anyone knows any persistent problems or issues with either vehicles? Mainly for family use, need a fairly large vehicle for 2 kids (baby chairs), and needs to be safe, min 6 airbags.

Tiguan 2012 owner here.
Actually Tiguan is not really THAT spacious, 2 kids - you probably should go the MPV route.

Problems:
1 year - battery dead
1.5 year - front wheel bearing gone
2 year - humming noise at the back (probably exhaust or fuel pump related problem) & faint squel noise on the front, at low speed (like starting from standstill)

Luckily, Dual-Shit-Gearbox haven't start acting up yet!
