Again, sorry for double post.  blush.gif (I feel like want to create a new post whenever I want to tell another thing)

I tried running stress test longer than before, and found out the maximum temp is actually 76-77C. Sorry guys. I still think this is quite ok.

And friendly reminder: there's one LENOVO sticker inside the laptop (just like I predicted) that prevented us to take out the keyboard bezel. I don't know if you guys get the same one.

I tried to remove the sticker carefully, but failed.  laugh.gif The sticker split in two, so when reassembling, I put it back together, hoping that technician didn't found out (if I need to send for warranty anyway).

If my case same with yours, please proceed with extra caution, only if your warranty is still valid. I hold no responsibility for voiding your warranty  whistling.gif

20'C? really that a?

i always replace my customer's thermal compound and max got 5C different with MX4 or GC Extreme (Compare to stock thermal compound on the laptop)

p/s: some of the Y410P thermal compound is very cheaplak one. only one month plus from the manufacturing date and the thermal compound already start drying up shakehead.gif rclxub.gif

few questions to clear:

1. Lenovo Malaysia officially announce that no Y series laptop accessories able to order anymore. Except External VGA card

2. Y410/Y510P DO NOT SUPPORT MSATA

3. inhouse testing BF4 at Y510P peak at 90'C +/c. Hitting 100C is abnormal. Please check your unit

MGFT is it ?

any Y410/510 doesn't has mSATA at all.

For those who has SSD, most likely via one of the below two method:

1. NGFF M.2
2. Caddy bay

Currently only Y410P has the M.2 Slot, but up to 42mm size which means max size 64G only.

And also there is no any SSD model of Y410/y510 model officially in malaysia. If one has, that's mean it's AP set

Lastly, current batches of Y510P DOESN'T HAS M.2 PORT

the Lenovo store from Digital Mall say the caddy bay can be order but it will take very long.

true or not, I can't give an answer but I did place my order for the caddy bay since september

for those who is wondering which bay can be use on Y series, I brought mine from the below link and it work like a charm but of cause the fitting is not exact.

caddy bay
*
We as Lenovo Premium partner, order the said caddy bay since last year. End up we gave up ady rclxub.gif

Hi all, planing to buy the y510P soon-ish, just wondering if I can swap the internal HDD with an SDD and install a fresh windows 7? The existing HDD I will put inside a caddy and swap with the dvdrw.

Will there be a problem? Is there any special configuration I need to do inside the BIOS?
*
just do as you go, no special setting required. Of course don't damage anything when u doing the transfer or else, warranty bye bye

Thanks for the answer, while you're here since you're selling this model too, does the 8GB comes in 1 stick or 2 x 4GB module? Just wondering if I can buy another 8GB later on.
*
it's 8G x 1 if you buying a local set smile.gif

Yup. I buy from local seller, have 2 year warranty, register online already. But they refuse my repair, maybe because the motherboard in Russia is different than Malaysia version. sad.gif Dunno what to do now

under normal using, no it's not hot.

if you do consistant read and write work (e.g full level format) then you will feel hot on the right side
