of course the original one is better. the ps1 version suffers from lag of menus and stuff. SNES faster.

chrono trigger is the 1st one which came out on the SNES...chrono cross is the sequel on the PS1.
i like the game because the cause and effect feature...i remember the first time I regret doing things without thinking of the effect and it caused me during the trial |

Chrono Trigger is nice, but Chrono Cross is much much better game in terms of battle system and story.

I kinda thought Chrono Cross sucked hard.
I could speed-run Chrono Trigger over-and-over again within a day, 6-hours. (with new game+ of course) |

QUOTE(sihumchai @ Jan 17 2007, 02:00 PM) I kinda thought Chrono Cross sucked hard. Maybe it's just too tough for you?? Chrono Trigger is too easy...story too simple..but then again, it was an 8-bit console game, can't expect too much from that era. And why does anyone wants to replay RPGs over and over????? That's like watching repeat ASTRO show...LOL. I never replay any RPG except Final Fantasy tactics coz the battle system is too darn good. I could speed-run Chrono Trigger over-and-over again within a day, 6-hours. (with new game+ of course) |

You didn't know Chrono Trigger had 12 different endings did you? Besides, why isn't not fun to play RPG's over and over again? (looks at people who want FF7 remake, and the people who love FF series so much)
And Chrono Trigger was well much longer than 6 hours, have you tried completing it within a day? Methinks not. And Chrono Trigger was a 16-bit game, not an 8-bit. SNES, and not NES. [Edit] And besides, I think most people here who have played Chrono Trigger during the early days were pretty much dissapointed with Chrono Cross. If CCross was the first you played, then of course, it would 'seem' better. I don't know, just a comparison from people who loved that game. And like most/all RPGs, the hidden factor, Magus' hidden room with his best items, special 3-person tech-striker like Crono + Frog + Ayla. And oh, Rainbow sword beats Ultima.. haha This post has been edited by sihumchai: Jan 17 2007, 04:45 PM |
