QUOTE(ckdenion @ Jun 6 2013, 10:48 AM) go outside workshop labour charge is <RM50...(d workshop i go to only rm15) proton charge at least RM60 (for minor service) Ya, change oil outside only RM15. Since my warranty gone, I'm gonna do all my minor service outside. Only do major service in SC coz my mechanic does not have all original parts I want for major service.

QUOTE(ckdenion @ Jun 6 2013, 09:59 AM) wad happened to ur car huh? cavino any updates from SC for ur car issue? Still in Cose. Called yesterday evening mentioning it might have some wiring issue and have to stay a couple of days there. I guess they're still trying to trace where is the source of problem. Only hope they fixed it once and for all, will worry if fixed the meter issue but suddenly discover the lost pickup still there. No point worrying to much for now, luckily still have Civic to tied me over these period. On we-care, I have an Irman on my case on regarding the warranty expiry. Guess calling we-care WHEN I have breakdown just to log in my case into we-care system does has its advantage, don't know will bear fruit or not. At least better than 100% have to pay cash as Cose wanted me to.

QUOTE(McFcker @ Jun 6 2013, 11:55 AM) So they will log the problem into the system and can apply to any SC? or still need to bring the book around. Separate from SC. It served as a central backup car issue tracking system. In case anything happened to your car in SC like they deny you reported certain issue, etc, the central We-Care system can still back you up since you've also reported issue over there.

QUOTE(stormaker @ Jun 6 2013, 01:33 PM) -Nobody manage to catch the tikus ? -But sometimes driving at uneven road also have the same sound, still normal ? Make sure its from the dashboard. If its from dashboard, chances are you have to live with it and try some DIY solution yourself. If its from the engine, as you mentioned it sound like belt, then asked to check the belt to ensure its in good condition.

QUOTE(The_FQ400 @ Jun 6 2013, 05:07 PM) i cannot recreate the aircond knob problem.. but its there Go to smaller SC. I also cannot re-create the problem but mentioned to SC and say not consistent, sometime will appear. They tested no issue but decided to change for me since they acknowledge that the knob problem is common in PE. Just changed them last Monday on my last warranty change.

QUOTE(ckdenion @ Jun 7 2013, 11:31 AM) bro...did you try to remove battery terminal after ur car got problem? or did you check whether anything to do with the battery? Got a call from Cose. Car done. Wiring loss at harness thus cannot read. Still did not explain why fuse burned (fuse was replaced by Klang SC before sending to Cose). So still have some doubt as cabling loss at harness causing fuse burnt?. Hopefully, the gear reverse jerk gone and most importantly the pickup strength recover. The mechanic seems a bit unclear while speaking thru phone so have to check physically myself. Anyway I can only go tomorrow. CoSE open on Saturday?

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Jun 7 2013, 12:12 PM) If reverse jerk or gear shift is harsh, and won't downshift, upshift at fixed RPM/speed, the communication between ECU and gearbox is having problem. Can be harness problem or TCU fuse burn. I've gotten this problem before when my car is very new, these symptoms came and tachometer shows 8000RPM. Somehow CoSE fixed it without changing harness, but they told me if issue reoccur, they will have to change the harness. Oh...that give me more confident on matter solved. TQ everyone.

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Jun 7 2013, 12:35 PM) And apparently the gearbox harness have to order from a Penang company. Turnaround time is 2 weeks. So far my car no problem, except there's once TT, I test firestorm, whack WOT for a few times and then car went into safe mode. What is safe mode symptom and how to switch it back?

Got back my car on Saturday after spending 4-5 days at SC.
Replaced fuse, re-tighten wire at harness and reset TCU code. FOC under warranty. It seems We-Care call on this warranty validity thingy really works.
Restored me some faith in Proton and We-Care rocks (coz they managed to help me mah...). Although I suspect since it only include labour cost and no part warranty. Still the labour cost of CoSE is originally high, so great savings here.
Now back to gua punya original warranty on steering clock spring or spring clock....whatever. After change and warranty expired....no difference, the robotic sound when turning the steering still there albeit softer but the installation workmanship that cause the plastic quek quek sound. Originally when last time check to claim warranty, zero quek sound, they open up, check, close back, sound appear till now. Grr...maybe it's the motor and they wrongly diagnose in the first place but workmanship sure is not very good. Too late anyway.

QUOTE(stargate8 @ Jun 9 2013, 02:53 PM) hi guys, anyone knows whether the wiper size 18/22 can be use or just stick to 18/20 for persona? I tot our original PE wiper is 19/20. Installed from the stock size recently to same length.

QUOTE(karastree @ Jun 10 2013, 01:07 PM) errr can fit my budget bro ??? rm 1000 for 4 pieces plus alignment Most tyre industry professional does not recommend tyre upsizing or downsizing with more than 3% differences. 195/60/R15 -> 195/55/R15 already exceeded the 3% guidelines. A variance of more than 3% from your original equipment can cause problems with transmission shift points, which can decrease fuel mileage. It can also confuse braking system computers, which may even lead to brake failure. These are the risks increment you have to consider according to most tyre pro. Of course some ppl don't care and change anyway at their own risk. Also changing 60 height to 55 means your tyre will appear much smaller. Reduced points in looks department UNLESS you upgraded to 16" rims. Then not only does it does not reduce points in looks, in stays in the 1% diameter variance from stock. However budget of RM1000 is not sufficient for rim changing AND tyre changing at same time. So IMO, either you increase your budget to change 55/R16or stays with stock.

QUOTE(iskazulka @ Jun 11 2013, 08:32 AM) u better send to SC / workshop to double check pronto. 4: Strange Sounds Your mom always told you that blasting music in the car wasn't good for your ears. Well, it's not good for your brakes either. That's because one of the warning signs that your brakes need servicing can come from a small indicator in your braking system that emits a high-pitched squeal when your pads need replacing. And, while this sound is loud enough to be heard even when the windows are up, it might be tough to hear with Lady Gaga blaring from the stereo. In addition to the squeal from the sensor, you'll also want to listen for a harsh grinding sound. This means that you've gone completely through your brake pads and now, when you apply the brakes, the metal of the calipers is grinding against the metal of your rotors. Not only is this an ineffective way to stop your car, chances are good that you'll also damage your rotors, thus turning a relatively easy and inexpensive pad job into a more costly rotor resurfacing or replacement ordeal. How to Check Brake PadsUsually for other car makes, squealing when braking means stock brake pad gone, however for PE, it has another inherent issues with brake squealing. Most of us has stock brake squeal after awhile. It does not squeal ALL the time and can't be solve unless change the entire brake bracket kuah since changing pads does not stop the squealing. If it is squealing at all times whenever brake is pressed no matter fast or slow does likely means pad is done for.

QUOTE(KKW @ Jun 11 2013, 06:16 PM) Should I cancel the insurance? I just check with JPJ the car still under my bro name. I worry if I cancel the insurance anything happen to the car I kena.. If I'm not wrong JPJ has implemented a new system called Temporary Ownership Transfer System. It will temporarily transfer name to the dealer for 6 months. This will protect the previous owner from legal matters. Check if the dealer has this e-transfer system.. http://www.myeg.com.my/faq/stms.htmlThis post has been edited by Cavino: Jun 11 2013, 06:30 PM
