Fuh. You're promoted to Honorary Big Buaya status. That's how our government works, rite? ph34r.gif
Any harsh vibrations while accelerating? Sounds like ECU failure to me.
*
Engine noise harsher probably due to higher rev but no noticeable increased of vibration.

Last time Gaga member r3apers encounter the exact same thing on his gaga. Turned out to be one faulty wiring in the harness, short circuit.

Your engine power reduced because you car dah masuk safe mode/limp mode.
*
Hopefully its the wiring issue as you mentioned, fixing at Bukit Tinggi SC on Monday morning (confirmed liao, not close).

If as Xandras mentioned, sensor, headache coz not Cose, have to wait very long for parts (waited 2 darn months for Clock Spring replacement, fixing that on Monday as well coz sudah sampai along with air-cond knob replacement parts).

If ECU, I'm selling my car after fixing...(tot going to change my 8 years old City and upgrade that to Civic when FL come out).....now possibly considering selling this instead coz my 8 year old City still problem free (only worried abt gearbox failure....still smooth now but aging at 105K mileage).

Not sure whether ur case is similar to kkw case...? He get the problem fixed n sell off the car too...
*
2 years. Ended either today or tomorrow. Forget what KKW problem is liao....just pray is small matter and can get replacement straightaway. Now not yet time to replaced car, short of cash due to shifting house next year....also waiting for Civic FL (only if US 2013 CIVIC FL brought over with most changes intact including improved suspension, braking system, interior material upgrade and external change).....and still not declared bankcrupt yet. Otherwise forced with live with this car (up to now, only got minor problem, nothing this major yet).

Haih....damn suey, 2 days ago, accidentally kick slightly opened drawer damaging my little toe (still bleeding now). Has to stop my "compulsory" swimming activity....there goes my keeping fit plan, tummy growing.

Then this happen, then this evening while trying to close boot, accidentally scratched the boot door with my key. The first word my wife utter when I told her PE got serious issue.....see I told you, get Proton somemore lar....I got nothing to say this time.

I guess nth major gua for ur case...asalkan bukan ECU kaput...if just wiring or sensor...then not as major as ECU failure...
*
My road tax is 31st May but I think officially, 1st June 2011 exactly like yours.

Thats what I hope like dares mentioned, small case of wiring shortcircuit but if ECU.....now have to worry warranty still valid since can only service on Monday that is on the 3rd although I already reported today at 5.30pm (SC closed liao but pickup call but I don't think my issue logged in today, have to rely on SC interaction with HQ for warranty parts).

Speaking of Civic, the new Civic sales isn't that good.

Lately I can see more Corolla Altis 1.8 and 2.0 compared to the new Civic.

hmm.gif hmm.gif
*
From Klang to KL Citibank area, I see lots of new Civic instead and rarely Altis.

Civic 2011 which is the model now Malaysia is having are universal panned by car critics but has top sales in that segment in US. However 2013 FL Civic released in US now has all major problems resolved and are universal praised by critics. Solved the looks issue, braking system and suspension issues that the current Civic has. THAT is the model I'm looking at and waiting probably for year 2014 release.

Those in the know is waiting for this new Civic and holding the purchase like me.....tho now I'm not holding it off...I no money to buy liao due to unexpected coming house purchase.

Is the upcoming Civic FL interior same as the current Civic?

If yes, no way in hell I'm gonna pay RM130k and get that plastic dashboard.
*
US 2013 model upgraded everything from upgraded interior material to enhanced external outlook (with even lower bonnet with sportier front grill and better looking rear lamps. From enhanced braking system (one of reason consumer report eliminated Civic from its top 10 list for 1st time in upteen years) to suspension re-tuning. Dashboard meters, etc remains the same tho. Overall this reminds me of Windows Vista (current Civic) vs Windows 7 (FL Civic).....where 2011 Civic should have been and found lacking and fully corrected in the FL Civic.

However Malaysia always strip the best lots out to save cost and lower price. So we'll see how much of the excellent 2013 model changes remains when reaching our shore if ever.

Guys,
What series does the SC stock up for their Petronas fully syn EO?
3000 or 1000?
Any guess how much damage to the wallet during the 20k service?
*
I dont't recommend using the stock Petronas FS EO in SC. They use 50 weighted FS that negate most of advantage of FS when all you need is the lower 40 weighted lube.

I think I wanna go tomorrow. Ha!

What the hell, 3 weeks oni krk krk sound!  ohmy.gif

However the handling very syok, and stable.  biggrin.gif

3 weeks only got sound....you're lucky. Mine get car already discovered they installed a gen2 rear side window into my PE. Got a very obvious gap where rain water can go in. Virgin car already spend 2-3 days to and fro at SC.

Asked Denion, he got the best quality car from Proton ever.

Now just as my warranty expired, my car masuk Kilang again. After spending one day at SC yesterday (car).....cannot fix, today 2pm apt at CoSE.

Cialat, troubleshooting at SC where got time to fix from 2pm. I guess my car gonna sleep at CoSE. niama, how am I going to get home to Klang.

Just prayed they don't void my warranty due to installation of GC and VS...coz now problem I believe is either due to wiring short-circuit (nothing to do with my devices since installed quite some time ago), since fuse also burned, replace fuse does not fix the problem. Hopefully its just wiring issue, not ECU or sensor.

also, i am curious as to the LCP. what's the typical damage? i have been reading in these forums and i gather that there will be an increase in engine vibration and noise. are the LCPs here in Malaysia that comes with a dampener? i am guessing the stock from Persona already have dampeners.

thumbup.gif
*
Mytheo LCP comes with a dampener and set you back by RM550 or so. Works Engineering LCP does not have a dampener comes at the price of RM330 ro RM360.

IMO, I would go for Mytheo albeit at higher price and slightly lesser vibration. Although there IS an increase in vibration and noise, the increase in lower end to mid-end torque is a MUST for our weak PE low end torque. The pros in this case far outweigh the cons. So IMO, this is a must have mod that plugged a hole in PE major weakness.

Darn CoSE,

Cakap no more warranty. My car registered on 1st June. My reported case was 31st May (unfortunately tutup kedai time) so no masuk record. Called We-Care or I-Care whatever to log in the problem as well.

Now COSE say if 1st June registered, 31st May warranty not valid coz they need 1 day to process????? So real last day was 30th May.

This is the first time I heard such bullshit. Customer WARRANTY should end the day it registered or at the least the day before. So become cash customer.

Called i-Care to complain and now they gonna assigned someone to look at my case....Jeez....what type of fucuk up warranty period is that? In any other car manufacturer, the last day SHOULD be 31st May.

argh... releasing ur racun again!!!!!!!! really tempted to have this mod  drool.gif

but i do really care about the quietness and vibration from the engine.. so hard to decide!!!!!!!  cry.gif  cry.gif

Drive around somemore with your stock CP. Then go install Mytheo LCP......you'll complain abt the increase noise and vibration...(I did last time).....then after a week of driving experience.....slowly getting used to the noise and slight vibration. Then bam....increased acceleration is so BIG (vs before installation), it overide cons it comes with.

For cars like City with excellent low end torque, installation LCP is not worth the trade off. For PE with it major weakness there, this plug to close the weakness hole makes it a total necessity especially for those with auto tranny.

The smaller SC like my Klang BKT is quiet ok actually, can talk one but Cose...haiz...hope the iCare deal come thru...

But then when they found out the GC and VS......and then the LCP...

I think I better check my bank acct first. Wiring issue, small case, ECU, habis gua punya secret curi ayam fund....

Since I got many Hondas experience where during 3 years warranty period, they REALLY HONOUR every warranty claim (not wear and tear lar)...meaning no pay a single repar cents except for servicing no matter what....I AM SO NOT GONNA GET A LOCAL CAR ANYMORE....CHEAP MY A$$...that is assuming I have to pay for this repair now...

For 35K, only change EO and filter. Can probably drag to 6K if have to, not preferable with dino oil (semi also dino) but no issue lar once in a while.

QUOTE(kinkeet @ Jun 5 2013, 08:37 PM)
hi, wanna ask for opinions here, i seldom drive my persona (2.5 years) and mileage is very low..
Sometimes go for service change oil, gasket and filter feel a bit waste.. I heard that if change to fully synthetic oil, the quality of the oil can last longer.. Is it ok to skip some minor service by using fully synthetic oil?
*
If you car is under warranty, you still have to follow the maintenance schedule, no choice. Changing to FS under warranty with low mileage is indeed cheaper (6 months vs semi 3 months) and actually recommended, assuming SC FS is NOT weighted 10W50 (50 weight strongly not recommended).

If warranty is no longer a concern, it will be MUCH cheaper to keep using the semi but drag out to 6 month change (as long as mileage is around or below 5K, whichever comes first).

Lube oxidization in our country is pretty high due to hot AND HUMID weather. So 6 months should be the general guideline limit before lube oxidization (turned acidic) get worse.

Changing at recommended 3 months interval does has its advantage as it ensure clean engine with minimal oxidization damage.

Personally for my other low mileage car, I did use a good FS with 6 months change interval, regardless of it reaching 5K mileage or not. Long term wise, its very good for the engine cleanliness and good performance. For high mileage car, dragging 10K mileage is not my cup of tea but it works for others. I prefer to use semi at 5K changed to ensure cleaner engine than 10K for FS unless you can get a very good quality oil filter to withstand 10K filteration.

The 3 years optional warranty might be in force.

Based on my current experience, unless its an engine failure, Proton will do whatever it takes to squirm out of paying, so not really worth the price of having to service at SC for the whole 3 extended years and the fact it only covers the engine AND not all parts of engine at that. Forced you to service at high SC price for years. Do the calculation (for newbies).

hmm.gif If he low mileage and out of warranty, won't it better for him to use mineral oil for 3 months interval since it is not going to hit the 5K mileage interval?
Outside service also cheap cheap also. FS is damn expensive lah for underutilised car.
Sell off the car and buy dugong lah.  whistling.gif
*
Using mineral is indeed much cheaper but if he has been using semi all this while, switching to mineral might make the car underpowered. At least that's what happen to me on iswara and city.
