wow like the 90mm! why u guys like kena jackport can go get 2 lens at a time ar? both lens oso 4 figure one.

*
Alot of saving, working, freelancing, selling off unused stuff......... you get the picture la sweat.gif

I lust after the 90mm for some time d, and I really need my own wide angle to use instead of borrowing from people all the time. doh.gif

This is not it yet, still got another to complete the lot. What do you think between these two lenses?

Nikon 55-200 VR

Tamron 70-300 VC

Sharpness is the same according to DXO.

Just thinking whether should spend the extra for FF compatibility and better AF+VC+build only. rclxub.gif

*
Had that last time before it got stolen at kanching falls cry.gif

Price difference is the issue really, cheapest price i got was RM1800 vs RM1290 for the tamron.

Btw the lens gave me this before it's gone for good.

The 55-300 is slower, front element rotates too doh.gif And boy is the lens heavy, not so different from the 70-300 really (comparing weights)

lol okay...
just that first time buying 1 scared kena tipu nia...3k aint cheap :/
*
Why D5200? Use a cheaper body and invest the extra money in lenses better what. Try a D3100/5100 instead. Use the extra 1K you save for a better lens like a Tamron 17-50 F/2.8

budget around there, and its like enhanced version of 5100?
*
The controls aren't improved, it's just mostly a higher megapixel sensor and more AF points.

Considering your budget is around 3K, it's even possible for you to get a D7000 and a tamron 17-50 for around 3.4K which is vastly better than a D5200.

For a D5100+17-50 combo. The price averages around 1.5K for the body+1K for the lens.

About 900 bucks savings which you can use to get an additional lens like a 35/50 1.8G.

any idea how to identify my lens sharpness?

i feel tht my D3200 18-50mm kit lens not sharp enough...
or should i say NOT sharp at all... very blur for 100% zoom
*
Is your shutter speed high enough?
For kit lens, optimum aperture is around F/8-F/11, personally I find the kit lens quite sharp if used properly with high enough shutter speeds to avoid blur and also optimum apertures.

Also your 24megapixel sensor is quite demanding on lenses,
can expose flaws in cheaper lenses and also place more demands on shooting skill

Experimenting with picture controls right now

So far I find that on my D7K that this set of picture controls gives me color that is very close to what I perceive with my own eyes.

Neutral

+ 6 Sharpening
+ 1 Contrast
- 1 Brightness
+ 1 Saturation
- 1 Hue

Anyone got a better experience tuning their own picture controls? Cuz this is my first time fine tuning it to get more accurate colors. sweat.gif
