i packed my 85mm for portrait but its too close sometimes.. need 135mm maybe hahaha

but for street, i just go with tele-zoom most of the time

maybe the 18-35 f1.8 is a good tele-zoom for street (crop body)

18-35 sure super expensive @@ gonna try it once its out..
u using crop or FX? why 85mm close? hmm.gif

It's proof of the improving ergonomics of their enthusiast cameras, maybe my next upgrade in a couple years would be a D400 if Nikon ever decides to release one  drool.gif
Aiya, ergonomics are important la, allows you to shoot longer what.
I have to handhold the camera for long periods of time when I shoot macro, so it's definitely a plus point for me when a camera fits like a glove  thumbup.gif

I have the 11-16 which I'm borrowing from my cousin atm, but no chance to fully utilize it yet, since I'm stuck at home with assignments  doh.gif

Mine's a cabinet, not a box LOL.
*
o then mine diff , i using box, not using cabinet yet.
haha, i shall not try the D7100 to make me lose my royalty towards my D7000 !
saw ur post on the using UWA but retain subject size and increase the background post, how does it actually works? ._.

LOLs I only know how to recreate the effects, dunno how to explain how it's done in detail.

But here's a link to a post with photos ranging from 12mm to 200mm. An interesting read  thumbup.gif

guys !! is RH35 okay for dry box? cause my dry box a bit noob type,
if i wanna use to maintain it at 40~45, normally once i see the RH around 35, then i will quickly take out the dehumidifier out and close back.. so it will settle around 40~45...
but by doing this i need to charge my dehumiifier frequently...
tried not taking it out, and it stays around RH35, is it okay? will the rubber and lubricant get dry up in a faster rate ?

guys, bumped into something on DXO mark..

http://www.dxomark.com/index.php/Lenses/Co...ron/(camera3)/0

Comparism between a 17-55 nikkor and 17-50 tamron..

the sharpness appeared to be higher in 17-50 tamron... and the VC one shows better sharpness than 17-50 despite people saying non VC is sharper..
Kinda confuse... or in this case DXOmark review gone wrong?

haha.. maybe it's biased after all.. even here also the difference is very obvious

yea, the 17-55 wont be performing that poorly.. the sharpness low compared to the tamrons...

QUOTE(celciuz @ May 12 2013, 06:36 PM)
Could it be lens to lens variance? As in the best of non VC was compared against the lousiest among the VC?
*
hmm .. might be, but what about the nikkor 17-55?

Thinking of getting a 90mm F/2.8 VC to do double duty as portrait lens and also to replace my current 60mm F/2 Macro lens

Or maybe just buy the 85mm 1.8G as a pure tele/portait solution.

user posted image VS user posted image

Any thoughts on this??
*
get 85mm 1.8G ! =D very sharp ! i got one and never regret that i've gotten it...

for portraits and short tele good too.. thumbup.gif

Hi,

I need everyone 2 cents here and help me to decide.

Currently I'm a student studying in India. Another 2 years and a half I'll leave here for good and serve my country. I decided to upgrade my DSLR to D800 and should I get it in India or Malaysia? In India, the Nikon warranty is 2 years while in Malaysia, it's just one year if I'm not mistaken.

If I bought the D800 here and repair it in Malaysia, they will accept to repair it right as long as I agree to pay the service fee quoted by them right? Any other people have experience buying Nikon product from other country and stays there for quite a while?

Thank you.
*
yo ! i'm studying at india too, imo the price here is kinda high... better to get at malaysia for a cheaper price... unless u r 6month ++ from getting one in malaysia, then can consider getting one here.. for me i would pay the extra lets say rm600 for the 6month worth of photos =)

btw, where r u studying? cuz the warranty havta claim from nikon service centers, and some part dont have... so kinda much of a hassle to claim a warranty.
