See today low volume naik 17 cents... manipulation?  hmm.gif I have a large chunk in TDM, not sell yet...waiting for dividend. You hold some too?

TDM is expected to announce results soon, and probably will be lesser than last quarter due to FFB cyclical production.  hmm.gif
I don't hold any. smile.gif

I looked at the charts ( tongue.gif ) and all the indications is that it should move much higher.

Sit tight my friend.
Soon you will be rewarded MORE. biggrin.gif

Hua Yang is one of the stock that is forever my pain. I remember I bought it somewhere at the price around RM0.90, that time the total company shares were only 88,000,000 shares. Too bad that time, I didn't have patient to hold and sold it for tiny profit but lost hell a lot after chasing those penny stocks. Nowadays, although it is still in my favorite list, but it is not in my most view favorite list and I don't really follow the price although a lot of fellow forummers here keep on mention when the price shoot up. It is really pain.

And, you are right, those fundamentally strong companies are still moving to a higher price level after GE. Like Sunway. Sunway was also one of my proud baby back in year 2007. I hold a lot of his WB and the price shoot up from RM0.30 of my buying price to RM1.00. Now, history repeated again but I don't have a single share at all for Sunway shares after it merged with Suncity.
*
You should mark down that stocks like HuaYang and Sunway are considered as Iskandar theme stocks.

Other Iskandar theme 'laggards' like Crescendo, Daiman, KSL have all done well.

ps: Remember to profit from your past valuable history. smile.gif

I learn the lesson from my past and currently I hold tight tight on KSL since year 2010. I've make a decent profit from KSL and I am confident that I can be rewarded more from KSL as I've studied this company well since year 2010. It is really a under-valued company.

Tebrau is going apes as I write now...

Iskandar theme rides again.

It won't surprise me one bit if KSL hits 3.00 in the near future.

Is he the guy who overpaid for the Indonesian bank?
The actual answer is no.
BII purchase was announced before he became CEO.

Hard to evaluate
Perhaps given the size of Indonesia's market, any Tom d*** Harry would have tried to get a piece of the pie
The actual issue is the price paid for the stake
If I am not mistaken, the price was like 4x the book value whereas market average was only 2x. And there was no other bids.

For example, most of us know how good nestle is. But will anyone bid 130 MYR for a share?
We cannot say that just because BII's performance in recent years have been outstanding that the purchase deciison isn't bad now.
World was exploding in crisis then.
Subprime la, banking la and we have Maybank making such a shocking high bid when no one else was bidding.
It was a BAD decision based on market factors then.
Our big Malaysian bank was made to look like a water fish!
To make matters worst, it nearly lost a 400million ++ deposit paid for the bank due to Indonesian laws.
To this very day, Maybank still needs to pare down its stake in that bank.
And because the price paid was so way over the top, a huge billion dollar ++ impairment loss was incurred by Maybank.

Used to buy EPMB at RM0.5xx back in Jan 2011, later got one foreign fund bought its shares and shoot up. Now long time never monitor this stock. EPMB usually run together with Ingress, now that Ingress no more, no direction.
EPMB and Ingress did ran together because they were in the Auto Parts sector.
Ingress now taken private, EPMB as itself .. rolleyes.gif
Profits had been on a decline too, like sector leader APM.
Not much incentive to buy unless you are a Chef or know someone who is one. tongue.gif

If I didn't have Huayang I probably would be ->  cry.gif
But instead,  brows.gif

Due to my warrant losses few years ago, I've now two separate accounts. One for trading and another for Long term investment managed by other half.
It's hard to give up the habit of trading.  tongue.gif
laugh.gif

I was just teasing.

PS: I don't understand what's the big issue against trading. tongue.gif
Why should it be a habit? Hehe.

Do you know that to be good in trading, you need lots of critical and open-minded thinking?
And being a trader doesn't mean one buta-buta hantam and sapu penny stocks like MAS-OR.
You can be a trader and you can trade stocks like Dutch Lady and you can still make very good money.
No need to listen others. Know yourself.

When you come to think of it, I am sure you know that, there are many here ...
who are investors in absolute lousy stocks because they went in for a speculative trade that did not work out. tongue.gif

Trading needs to eliminate negative emotions. This needs experience and exposure to huge losses then only will learn.  laugh.gif
Investors also needs to eliminate negative emotions lah. tongue.gif
Don't have?
See HuaYang?
It's an investment grade stock but only just the stock's have been going up... tongue.gif
If an investor succumbs to the greed emotion and get sucked into the current bullish factor for the stock and chased the stock until trousers come down...
what's the likely result?

ps: I don't buy the huge losses then only will learn.
When huge losses come, that fella or char bo will be knock out of the stock market game.
When out already, hard to learn.
My best way to learn....
Don't trader till you really know how to trade.

QUOTE(Icehart @ May 17 2013, 10:06 AM)
As for those who goes into speculative stocks, perhaps they're the technical players.  nod.gif
LOL!
I bet not.
A good technical trader will know that usually the speculative stocks are odds on against them.

Land bank is very seductive now.
Just sitting on the land bank and not doing anything can make the owners very rich.

Investors need to eliminate negative emotions? On what basis?  unsure.gif
I already mention the greed emotion mah.
One see an investment grade stock go up, if one succumb to greed, one will chase.

Or one is holding an investment stock but the stock move like AhPek.
Despite sitting on a 30% gain over say 3 years, one can succumb to negative emotions involving greed again.
They reason 30%... mana cukup macha!
They want more.
So instead of holding on to this slow mo AhPek, they switch to a young one.
Needless to say, 8 out 10 times, such a switch will see the AhPek stock wake up.
Is like AhPek knows. laugh.gif
Or is purposely moving slowly just because you have it.
The minute you sell, it moves boom, boom up. laugh.gif

Emotions.. exists whether you are trader or not.

Trust me...
There are many things that traders and investors are so alike.

The phrase 'It never was my thinking that made the big money for me. It always was my sitting. Got that? My sitting tight! ' come from a book based on a trader called Livermore.
What's the investor version? 'Buy and hold for the longer term'.

Mbsb is one of the shares i eyeing. Based on p/e of 6.8 it looks cheap. But my concern is whether the profit is sustainable? How healthy is its loan portfolio, whether loan has been given to borrower not meeting credit rating. will their borrower default on the loan when economic downturn hits? Is it generally borrow to pr1ma scheme borrower? Will it become US fannie mae and subsequently become toxic asset which leads to subprime loan crisis? I not knowing the stock much, so i not dare to enter nw..[U]

This is where stocks become tricky.
There is no perfect stock.
Every stock will have its own RISKS and its up to the individual investor on whether they want to GAMBLE on those risks.
Making matters worst, stocks despite their inherent risks can fly.
There is no such rule as lousy stocks cannot fly.
Or only good stocks can make money.
Stocks are tricky.

However, it does look like you have a right approach, ie not entering stocks that you do not know much.
It is very GOOD to stock to what you know.
