Simply said, they can use it for all the wrong reasons. So, guys, don't simply share your IMEI number! :-)Alcatel One Touch Glory 2S [Official Thread], AKA T'POP

I think there's no other solution other than reflashing it using Alcatel Upgrade Manager. My phone bricked twice during upgrading/rooting, then I just flash it again and everything went well.Tolong aku. Aku harap dengan files ROM_0 dan files recovery lain semua yang aku backup boleh digunakan untuk betulkan balik phone yang dah takleh on/takleh boot. |

After about 24hrs, i can conclude it's a decent phone (especially with its price tag). A bit busy right now, maybe i'll try to root my phone in the next 2-3 days. (Although i have no idea what to do next).
I notice there's a lot bloatware preinstalled, what are the things that i should and shouldn't remove? |

People keep asking the reason of rooting.
Why ROOT the phone? What for? Well, to simply put it in a simple explaination, Because we want: - to gain the ability as a super admin/user. You can do whatever you want with the access behind those restricted door of system. - to delete unwanted bloatware/garbage-apps that is preinstalled on our phone by the manufacturers or telco. (most of the time, these apps cant be uninstalled directly/normal way. rooting allows us to bypass this restriction. deleting these apps will free up more space on the phone, and might as well freeing more RAM for system usage, thus faster operation less lagging.) - to bypass the system restriction and install ALL file to our SD card. Yeah our internal storage is too small, so to install on our external storage as SD card would be awesome. More space, yay. - to change the type of system it self. like you change from windows 7 to windows 8 or even Linux OS. They called these OS for phone, custom ROM. There are lots of types out there. However those ROM still depends if your device is supported by them. Because you cant just simply install/flash any of those ROM randomly. It needs to be compatible with your phone, or you will have an expensive paperweight if u failed. However, with great power, came with great responsibility and risks. You WILL VOIDED your warranty if you root your devices. there is a way to gain back the warranty which by reflashing your phone with the original system os. So you need to read up how to do it 1st before u actually thinking to root. As for my alcatel, (i use mgyun) I rooted > change the chinese superuser to english > created partition on my SD Card > install Link2SD app to move and install all other apps to the SD card instead of internal memory > deleted unwanted apps/bloatwares > enjoy my phone. For further reading on these matter of rooting, read Here. |
