Actually, Killer has consistent performance compared to everything else. Not sure if that has changed recently.
*
Killer card have tons of issues. If you would google up, almost all dell laptop that come with killer wifi card will have wifi issue. Myself experience 5 faulty killer card

Get broadcom, is more worth d price.

Dont waste ur ssd potential

it seems that other aw14 user at other forum do face exactly thing as you do where theres not compatible hardware found.
so dont worry, by the way for me if it isn't broke, just dont bother on fixing it  laugh.gif
*
Thanks, this has comfort me a bit. But still my laptop is with 3 dead pixel and they only can replace refurbish lcd for me. I wonder where they get the refurbish unit?

Use Intel RST to set the mSATA as cache for your main drive.
That's how. biggrin.gif

BUT...
it's still slow compared to SSD.

I just need to convert to UEFI and ill be good. bcoz i am already running SSD as my main drive. So RST will do no good.
*
Yea, I notice intel have this "rapid start tech" app to speed up your start up. U can try that on top of d rapid storage

My rapid storage cached msata + uefi boot time = you ordinary bios ssd boot......
keep up pal

no point.
Bcoz the main drive will be faster than the cache...

Mine is great. Works perfectly. Version 1103 with 2012 drivers. Never drops, never an issue. Most of my friends that use it also have nothing but good things to say.
One of those 512gb SSDs.
*
IC, the one i got is flagship of killer, ver 1202 and when i google up my issue, it seems like all other Dell model with this card have similiar problem......
maybe yours is good......

so we can concluded that uefi can drastically speed up your boot time. rclxms.gif

Guys...
my GPU runs arnd 63-64oC while playing borderlands 2....
to me that's not too high....yet...
but afetr arnd 10-15 mins...performance drops....
is there something wrong? =(
*
I do read up in notebookreview forum said that dell implement some gpu throttle. Whenever your gpu reach 66 degree, it will reduce your gpu clock speed, hence performance suffered......
someone said u can disable it in the bios thou

Thats something new...for me at least...
and a lot of AW14 owners complaining the same thing!
Throttling is NO GOOD!!!

But then again, i played another round of Borderlands 2 last night...
It played well till the end...

So i m puzzled now!  rclxub.gif
*
everything happen due to the current temp of your gpu.....
perhaps yesterday your played at a much more cooler environment than your previous?or is it the rain???
just wild guess

Yeah, turned off room lights; good observation. Using evening window light for the 2nd shot. First shot is a relatively long exposure shot with a single firing of flashgun  laugh.gif Aperture is F9
*
i saw ur flicker is 1sec exposure, how bout flash power? do u rmb how much u set it? I been taking picture with me laptop ytd and all shot also failed

did another session with a different game...
another weird finding....

my GPU core wouldnt go to 797mhz...it is stuck at 601MHz...

whats the deal?
rclxub.gif
*
that prove the throttling which i mention to you earlier
bad isnt it?
cry.gif

update: when i do stress test under a very cold air-cond room, my gpu temp never reach 58 degree i got constant 901MHz

so it seems this problem is becoz the game is not taxing the GPU enuff for it to boost....
weird....
the GPU utilization is 100%! rclxub.gif
*
can you show me the guide to adjust the throttle limit?
in the mean time u can check this out http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-...-gpu-temps.html
