Bro how to get the V-shape back like yours? Back workout? Wide grip pull up?

Basically anything that targets your lats will do. And genetics (muscle insertations) play a big factor too.

I cut on 450 grams of carbs daily. That is around 4.5 plates of white rice. That's just a small meal. Ate a shit load more earlier in the day.
Natural for life.
*
As I know from common knowledge, excessive carb causes diabetes. Pancreas produces insulin and other hormones to help regulate blood sugar. When eat too much carb, too much stress on pancreas to produce insulin all the time and eventually it stops working (stop secreting insulin) hence we get diabetes.

Thus, I always try to limit my carbs to 280 at max nowadays and add as much healthy fats without getting hungry.

darklight79, what's your take on this? Don't you fear that taking in 450g carb per day could cause diabetes over time? Any explanation on this? Enlighten me.

P/S: Many people in my family (aunty, uncle, grandmother, grandfather) all have diabetes. My parent's friends also 85% of the time have it also (same race). Their diets are usually 95% carb, 5% protein. Like a big plate of rice, with some dal and 10grams of chicken meat from chicken curry.

There are different type of 'sugar' if I may.. And carb doesn't get you diabetes.. Lifestyle and loads of junk food, or in some case your genetics will...

I buy Darklight's take on this. I'm on 500g carb in my last diet.. Now dropped to 350-380 to add more fats in my diet..

Just did my body check up.. Blood glucose still good..
*
Not sure about type of sugars. What I do know is diff carb sources have diff glycemic index (GI). Those high GI carbs/simple sugars are said to be bad because they rapidly spike your blood glucose levels and the pancreas have to make a insulin spike to bring things back to normal. Repetition of this glucose and insulin spike is what that's said to overwork the pancreas over time. This is why diabetes patients are advised to eat brown rice due to it's low GI and lower glycemic load (GL).

They are however good to be consumed in small quantities before workout due to their fast digesting properties.

About darklight, from the pics he seems to be consuming alot of white rice (not brown) which is a high GI/GL carb. That is what that made me curious. Or does darky get more than half of his carbs from complex moderate GI carbs?

QUOTE(kshen @ Nov 17 2014, 10:05 AM)
Isnt carbohydrate composed of sugar itself ?
*
The body breaks down or converts most carbohydrates into the sugar glucose. Glucose is absorbed into the bloodstream. Insulin (this is where pancreas comes in) is now released to bring back blood glucose levels to normal back.

man..u don't even know what you're saying. roids or any other 'assistance' are pretty much within your grasps if u know where to look. i know more than a handful in my ghetto gym who are on them.

having said that, it doesn't mean these ppl have it easy. not that i condone assistance or cycling, but if you see how dedicated these ppl are in the gym, i wouldn't even begin judging them.

nattys are awesome as always but doesn't mean assisted training is to be judged. just sayin.
*
I normally dislike assisted people often due to the stupid advice they give. For example giving body part splits to newbies and this guys dun knoe jack shit about periodization and all that. Very rare to see anabolic user with real training knowledge...

true dat.

then again what's more annoying are the questions newbies post to these guys..
eg - i want those arms, i want 6 pack, how? do what? eat what?
eg - i want to be strong but dowan to be big like those body builders, geli...
eg - 15 eggs/day? chicken boobs? downing olive oil? ewwww...i eat clean like kuey teow soup can?

can't blame them trainers giving them shitty advice sometimes..let's face it we've all been there in the newbie stage smile.gif. heck i prolly am still there smile.gif
*
That one i can see in this forum itself. 0 reading before stepping into the gym when forum.bodybuilding.com already has stickies which cover almost everything.

I myself actually read Starting Strength 2x before touching a barbell. It's not a play play thing. Caution against any bro science.

hey guys, wanna ask your opinions whether i should cut or continue bulking because my tummy is quite big, i think my body fat is around 20 - 25%.
*
The way to bulk is to set a definite end weight the day you start bulk, so you don't have such doubts.

It's subjective, you can continue or start cut. Judging from your concerned feelings, you shud probably start cutting, cause I don't think continue bulking will keep you happy.

so you are bulking currently?

did you actually calculate your macro intake and calorie deficit?

ya, probably i will lose some gains but i am going leaner, and start clean bulking again coz i read somewhere saying that if our body fat percentage is lower, we are easier to put on some muscles.
*
Actually it's quite simple, it's best to start skinny as f***, like all bones at 11% bodyfat so you can bulk for 1.5-2 years before you need to cut.

Second, if you fat or chubby... maybe got tummy abit and at 18%-25% bodyfat, but malas to do an initial cut before training, you can eat at maintenance (keep weight constant, it's called a recomp) and train for 1.5 years until your bodyfat % reaches 11%.

Third, you can cut and become a super skinny faggot skeleton before start training, so you can do the great 2 year bulk.

Omg. Potential gym buddy! haha. Erm im from Bkt. Mewah. Which gym do you work out bro?
No. I was on broscience diet. Fk "clean eating. chicken breats only, no carbs" fad. Haha.

Then started reading tons of thread stickied here and BB.com . Armesh posted a lot of good links too on nutrition somewhere in this forum. And tht's how I learn about macro and micro.

Currently, reverse dieting from that stupid cut. Increasing my calories slowly while maintaining current weight. happy.gif

Hye I'm currently cutting as well...now in week 4, I gave lost 2kg down to 77 at deficit 1900.
I noticed I'm having plateue at the moment...weight is no longer dropping..

If I continue at tis deficit, will fat loss still occur?
If I drop 100kcal, mayb I can lose another kg but then when I hit plateue again, n I drop more kcal again n again , wouldn't tis damage my metabolism?

Tq

Always increase exercise before dropping cals. Increase protein ratio.... and drop max to 1200cals. Do HIIT, cause unlike low intensity cardio, it does not drop metabolism.

What can you expect from structured nutrition plan and consistent with training? Low body fat and macular physique. Meet another of our client Rey from Muscle Factory. He started consuming ‪‎physiquemeal‬ since September 2014 till today. His goal is to compete in bodybuilding novice category this coming December. He started at 94kg with 22% of body fat and after 12 week of consuming physiquemeal for three times a day, now he is standing at 83kg with 10.6% of body fat. (Picture right) Currently our Australia certified trainer Kam is working closely to guide him up to his show. All the best to Rey.

LOL, I can make people achieve that without any 'physiquemeal' or any supplements, just normal food.

[attachmentid=4301646][attachmentid=4301649]

3 months of cutting. started at roughly 20%+. nearing 15% (i think). decided to extend another month of cutting. is the progress too slow?

current stats (1RM)
Deadlift 160kg
Squat 130kg (recovering from minor hip injury)
Bench 80kg
OHP 55kg (i suck at OHP)

currently doing HIIT and LISS on alternate days. daily calories at 2.1k. strength loss is becoming more obvious.

any constructive criticism is appreciated  notworthy.gif

cheers
