Was just wondering if anyone is using a Sony Bravia LCD TV. I just got one and I'm so damn disappointed at the quality of images when playing Gears of War. My blacks just totally suck.

I just wanna make sure whether that it's just the case of Bravia tv's or is mine an isolated case. By the way, the model I'm using is KLV-32V200A, it's a 32 incher.

I know those X series are good. Problem is they only start at 46 inch in Malaysia and that's just too big for me. Anyone else using S series or V series like mine? Problem i have is really the blacks. I just couldn't believe the difference it shows when compared to a PC monitor. Should've just went for the Dell 24 incher instead.. sigh...

QUDERN, use Avia or DVE and get it calibrated. Probably the settings is waaay off.

I just realised something regarding the VGA cables. On displays less than 50 inches you probably won't notice any difference between the original cables and third party ones. But once you go beyond that size you'll start to notice differences in picture quality. I had problems with ghosting and double images with the third-party cables, once change to original cable the problems goes away.

OK. I've just messed with some picture settings. Initially I tried every damn setting there is except for one "Sharpness", not thinking that would make any difference. I've crank down my sharpness setting all the way to "0" and wholla! It looks alot better now.

I suppose it'll never be as good as a monitor but at least now, I don't feel like throwing it down 18 floors.

MK84, I'm only using a 32" and using the Monster Gamelink cables (component) which are suppose to be the good, so I think now, I'm getting the best out of my Bravia after setting it right and stuff. Was still expecting a little more from something that that cost that high though.

All credits goes to that poster, Petmic and also to PSP_boy for pointing it out to me thumbup.gif

I have the AVIA HDTV Calibration DVD if you like to use. I use the setting from both posts above, it worked better than my AVIA DVD though, with slight tweaking.

Thank you for the links. But it doesn't work for my V series with those settings. I think cause the V series don't have any white balance controls or something. Anyway, I've messed with almost all combinations I can think of. It does looks alot better now but still just can't match my monitor. Thanks for the help string.
