I believe Djinn was referring to LCD monitors, not LCD TVs. Most widescreen LCD monitors above 24" has a native res of 1920 x 1200. Which is more than enough to run 1080P. Most 20" widescreen LCD has a native res of 1680 x 1050, a tad short for full 1080P.
Most LCD TVs on the market now has a panel native res of 1366x768 (WXGA). Enough for 720P. |

QUDERN, use Avia or DVE and get it calibrated. Probably the settings is waaay off.
I just realised something regarding the VGA cables. On displays less than 50 inches you probably won't notice any difference between the original cables and third party ones. But once you go beyond that size you'll start to notice differences in picture quality. I had problems with ghosting and double images with the third-party cables, once change to original cable the problems goes away. |

The only time sharpness levels needs to be tweaked is when dealing with Composite/S-Video signals. Otherwise it's best to leave it to off setting.

You can go to AVSForum and look for the tweakers/official thread of your particular LCD TV model. You're gonna have to dig through the postings but it's definitely worthwhile.
Finally found a setting that I'm comfortable with for the HD70 there. |

QUOTE(Sd-RawK-Cab25 @ Nov 27 2006, 09:51 PM) hey guys..just wanna ask for your recommendations: Cheapest widescreen monitor to fit your requirements would be the Dell 24-inch series. AFAIK all 19 inch and 20 inch widescreen monitors doesn't come with Component input. At most only composite input.what's the cheapest widescreen lcd monitor i can get, that is great for primarily x360 gaming, and tht supports component inputs (as well as vga) and has built in speakers preferably? i'm eyeing on VA1912wb but then i thought analog input meant component..it isn't, no? thanks in advance for your recommendations/answers!~ Composite, Component, S-Video. RGB (VGA), all these are Analog inputs. Digital inputs would DVI and HDMI. |

The real difference is when you go from standard 4:3 screen to 16:9 widescreen. After that you'll see the difference as you go with bigger HDTVs.

Panasonic PT-AE1000 1080P projector going for 13k. Might go lower during the show according to my sources.
