.. I have a question, if i managed to sell my leasehold, less than 5years condo to a non-bumi, will the unit become a non-bumi lot, or will it remains as bumi lot? I did a huge mistake by buying this bumi lot.

u can't sell bumi lot to non-bumi very difficult one. Need to go to land office to change the status.

As i know it can be done, but the process very difficult and will take very very long time.....good luck on this

+1 It can be done.But you have to provide evidence that you have been trying hard to sell to bumi and could not sell. But non-bumi die die wanna buy your house. Also show that you already bought another house to live and could not sustain by paying the installments for both. Write this in a letter.

However do take note if you have multiple houses, they wont layan you. so u have to be smart.

I agree with AMINT's point and have to be smart.

Or can say that you really need the money from the transaction to support your/your family's medical bills. But Im not sure whether they will ask for prove by submitting the medical bills or not.

+1 yes can. We bought over a bumi lot before. 1 year to wait. As mentioned above, the owner needed the money for his chemotherapy.. cant sell the house to bumi as no buyers at the price.. furthermore we buying by cash.. so no need scared bank loan not approved..

the owner had to provide a lot of evidence that indeed he has cancer and needed the money to treat his condition..

as far as i know, medical reason to sell is the highest rate to get approval..

yeah medical reason can get the highest but how to use that if really dont have any health issue? anyway, i pity the previous owner that you mentioned. maybe he truly needs the money. i hope he is doing ok now

he is doing ok biggrin.gif this was 5 years ago~
we could buy cash coz the houses then was still cheap..


we just bought another landed unit in Puchong.. not a bumi lot.. but a malay owner.. took 10 months to transfer.. getting the consent was a terrible wait.. even its not a bumi lot, the owner had to state reasons to sell the house and with approve to his claims.. the land officer said even though not bumi lot.. its in bumi quota..

freehold is much easier..

I am buying a house from Bumi owner also lately. Even the title is not malay reserved nor bumi but the 1st application was rejected. Now seller appealing to land office stated that he need the money for his retirement fund as he already 60 plus.

me too the same story..
the old Malay owner go back to kelantan for retirement and sold his KL house.

Headache...headache. I'm a Malay. Never bought a bumi unit/lot in my entire life. Got 2 apartments, 1 condo, 1 semi-D. All international lot.

Bumi lot is a curse!

Might as well cancel this bumi lot thing. If have money buy...no money don't buy. Simple economics.

I'm currently working in JB until this August, then go back to KL where I belong. Situation in Johor damn worst than KL. Bumi unit allocation is 40% of total development. Buying power of bumi in JB is the weakest I believe. All bumi lot goes unsold until developer release. Sultan Johor also cannot do anything about this maa..

But me from KL BBB.....
