I'm wondering whether there're 4-5 stars hotels in kuala lumpur that offering best rate for government officer.
Been looking for a place to pamper myself once in a while with the best value of money.

Any suggestions? blush.gif

You probably should check with your Govt agency coordinator for corporate booking rather than forum haha.

For private, normally I will check wth my HR & Admin to check whether any corporate rate offered

just call up the hotel and ask for gov rate.
Normally can get RM160 to RM180 per room in line with the gov claim circular.
I got RM160 before for Hilton

hmmm...yah, funny..haha.

jokes aside. i assume you guys are from the private sector. hotels give good rates to gov staff even for personal stay. just ask and nego with the marketing/ reservation staff.

anyway, just to share my experience. it was in hilton kuching. went there a few years ago. it was on minister's function and we booked several rooms. one of the bests deal i got was way back in 2009. I got traders hotel at RM160 with breakfast. in the same year, Hyatt KK suite for below RM500.

those are old rates so TS may want to check for new rates. I no longer take care of hotel bookings, so I don't know what's the current rates.

hope my reply helps TS.

No wonder you can get that rates because at Hilton Kuching. Most of 5 star International hotel in KL doesn't have good rates for government staff.

sorry, can't help you on KL hotel rates. I have booked hotels in Penang, Perlis, East Coast, Sabah, Sarawak.
But never in KL. My office is in KL, so not eligible to stay in KL.

Anyway, have you tried calling any hotels?

government staff discount.. biggrin.gif
the rate you would probably get are the same rate with corporate rate...
yup...you will get "extra" benefit if you're the person who handle any government program held in that hotel....(marketing maa...)

and mind you that NOT ALL hotel have extra discount for government servant especially those walk-in customer...
and also mind you that if it's on peak season...the possibility the get discount are quite small

p/s:
the only hotel i'm sure you can get a discount for government servant are HOTEL SERI MALAYSIA even if you walk-in
i know that because it's my parents first choice because both of them are retired government servant laugh.gif
but if in KL city center area...i doubt you will get any discount for government servant unless you already know the person in charge of that hotel..
why not try hotel in putrajaya or cyberjaya???
which i think if in that area...chances to get government servant discount is quite high thumbup.gif

I used http://www.booking.com loved this website because it allows you to book without the commitment of paying (but they do capture your credit card details as a guarantee for no show) and sometimes they even throw in free cancellation if you cancel about a week before. And its always about $1 to $10 cheaper than other sites.
