i see..
then, between this acer v5 vs lenovo z400 which one is better?
in terms of warranty and performance wise.. ignore battery life..
also, hp envy 4 is better than this two.. is it?
can all this three laptop upgradeable like ram, ssd..
*
Performance: Z400/GT740m > Envy4/HD8750M > V5/GT710m
Warranty support is around the same standard.
Best price/performance: Z400/GT740m@2099.

Since you are casual gamer, perhaps Z400 is the best choice. biggrin.gif

All can upgrade ram, ssd. Suggest to ask the reseller to upgrade the ram & ssd for Z400 if needed, it will save the hassle for you.

thanks again bro.. smile.gif
i think i just narrow it down to either 15r and z580...
actually i interested in lenovo y400...but i just confused if it worth for me to buy it. rclxub.gif

the lenovo Y400 will be better. it is thicker compared to Z580 and has a little more area for cooling. plus, the graphics card on Y400 is GT650M, one of the 1st class graphics card.

Since you are into heavy gaming, best is to wait and grab the upcoming Y400/GT750m with better performance than GTX660m and cooling, poisoness red backlit, swappable ultrabay. brows.gif

Hi I was looking at the Dell 14z series at Dell 14z webpage and the reviews there are considerably extreme as some are really satisfied with it and some totally disgust it. Would like to get some opinion from the many sifus here. Thanks in advance!

if you are in need of a laptop for work, then you can get the Z580. the graphics card is mid-high end and capable of playing most modern games. smile.gif

If you need it urgent, try to check at garage sales for old spec Y400/GT650m and cod with the reseller.
You can also consider:
Z480, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT640M@RM1999, 4GB, 1TB(5400rpm) W8, colors: grey/red/blue
Z580 is better in cooling and Z480 for mobility.

Y400/GT750m might surprising pop up next week hmm.gif who knows, hahaha laugh.gif

1. Preferred Brand : Any
2. Budget : below 2k ( my cousin want's it)
3. Usage  : Daily use, movie, adobe PS,AI and gaming (Dota 1)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : i5 + graphic card 14"-15" + come with 8gb ram, future can update to 16gb.

this

Lenovo G480, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT635M@RM1699, 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), FreeDOS
Lenovo Ideapad G580, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M@RM1699, 2GB, 500GB, freeDOS, 1 yr warranty

for the RAM, is your cousin doing lots of multitasking? because 8GB is enough for running 3-4 heavy programs. so i dont think your cousin need a hilarious 16GB setup. be noted that above the 2 laptops, the RAM is upgradeable. 4GB stick = RM80-90, 8GB = RM130++. price is RSP and negotiable for laptops.

yes, as long you use 64-bit OS and use 2x8GB RAM.

and, yeah, for gaming 4GB can done the job. so there is no need for excessive RAM.
