Thank you very much. But, why no Asus? Is Asus no good? I know Asus makes quality laptops but how are their support in Malaysia?

OIC. So, in term of build quality and after sale service which one you recommend? I hear Dell is really good.

I've been reading and reading about which brand to buy. I'm not new in buying laptop. I've bought 3-4 Acer, 2 Asus, 1 Compaq, 1 Toshiba, 2 HP minis and used my brother's dell netbook. Not for myself only but for my friends and family. I heard that Asus and Toshiba is good but to me not that good. I've used a lot of Acer from Inspire to Travelmate and I'm satisfied with them despite a lot of people saying Acer is no good. In the end of the day, I just need a reliable laptop that won't die on me for at least 3 years. Is that a lot to ask for a budget of RM1200?

Whether a notebook lasts or not depends on luck and also user care. And RM1200 is abit on the lowest end already, so try not to expect too much from a budget notebook nod.gif

I'm not aware of an official Y500 without SLI? hmm.gif
Since your budget is the limiting factor, just get the Acer nod.gif
You won't go wrong with the IPS screen brows.gif
As for rendering, it depends more on your CPU instead (and the i7 processor is very good already); unless if you are doing 3D stuffs hmm.gif

1) No preferred brand.
2) Mainly for internet, movies, some photo editing, work.
3) International warranty preferred as it'd be used in Australia.
4) Budget under 2k but willing to go above if necessary and the extra amo.unt is truly worth it

Build quality is quite important too as I do have 3 small kids about.

Hi,

I'll be buying a new laptop soon and hope to get some recommendation

1. Preferred Brand : Any as long as it's worth it
2. Budget : Less than 1.5k
3. Usage : General office task and movies (sometimes HD movies)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : as long as the dimension feels comfortable for movies

Hope I'm not asking too much for the price. Thanks in advance!

[Ultrabook] Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b051TU, i3-2367M + Intel HD3000@RM1499, 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W8

Lenovo
G480, i3-2348M + Intel HD3000@RM1299, 2GB, 500GB (5400rpm), FreeDOS; W8@RM1499
G480, i5-3230M + Intel HD4000@RM1499, 2GB, 500GB (5400rpm), FreeDOS

1. Prefered Brand ASUS/LENOVO/DELL
2. Budget RM2-RM2.4k
3. Usage : Surfing internet, quite heavy gaming (at least GT640m)
4. Screen size 15.6"

I'm interested on LENOVO Z500, but some PCShops told me that if I want to use for gaming, it is not suitable. Z500 is slim and easily get heating problem. Any suggestion??

getting the new Z400 is actually worth it. i dont see any difficulties in disassembling except need to pry the back cover and keyboard with care as im haunted with plastic clip damage. cleaning doesnt mean you need to clean it everyday, you can do it twice per year to maintain it.
