ASUS N56VZ-S3151H, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT650M@RM2799[2.7kg][B&O], 4GB, 750GB, W8; color: black
Lenovo Z400, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT740M@RM2099, 4GB, 1TB, W8; 2 years warranty; colors: chocolate
Illegear RE-15, i5-3210M + Nvidia GTX660M + (1920x1080)@RM3299, 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), FreeDOS [CPU Options: i5-3210M - i7-3840XM][/color]

lenovo is the best bang for buck laptop. just the disassembly is difficult compared to normal laptops. upgrade the RAM to 8GB, extend the warranty to 3 years and if got money, throw in a SSD for faster loading.

Welcome to the thread thumbup.gif
Nope, you are not asking too much for the price haha~
Can consider these:
14"
Dell

Inspiron 14-3421, 2117U + Intel HD + (1366x768;touch)@RM1599[1.99kg], Win8SL, 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), 6-cell

HP

[Ultrabook] Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b010TU, B987 + Intel HD@RM1399, 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W8
[Ultrabook] Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b051TU, i3-2367M + Intel HD3000@RM1499, 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W8

Lenovo
G480, i3-2348M + Intel HD3000@RM1299, 2GB, 500GB (5400rpm), FreeDOS; W8@RM1499
G480, i5-3230M + Intel HD4000@RM1499, 2GB, 500GB (5400rpm), FreeDOS

Thanks for the prompt reply from many sifus. I tried lookup for more information for the laptops but I have some questions.

Dell New Inspiron 15
Dell Inspiron 14

In the 2 links above, I'm comparing the RM1399 15' laptop with the RM1299 14' unit. I'm just curious how come the 15' unit just cost extra RM100 compared to the 14' unit with a slightly better processor, extra 2gb RAM and extra W8 OS or is there any hidden information that I missed out?

Also I would like to know is touch screen feature useful and worth the price for W8 cause I have no experience with W8 yet. If so can sifu pls recommend me some budget laptops with the feature?

Hope that I can get some advice on these. Thanks!

Don't think you've missed out anything there laugh.gif
Perhaps 15" notebooks are cheaper to produce? tongue.gif

Touchscreen offers a better user-experience for W8, but then that is only applicable to notebooks which are "convertible" to a tablet format nod.gif

the 15" model is heavier compare to 14" model, while the 14" model doesnt comes with windows, and its lighter. the weight of the laptop also influence the price factor. when the 14" model is equipped with windows 8, it will be more expensive than the 15" model.

if you want to know how useful the touchscreen on windows 8 is, its due to the Metro UI/Tile UI/Start feature. in windows 8, the start button is removed (however, a 3rd party software is released to restore it) and when you press the start button on keyboard, it brings you to the Metro UI, where all your tablet apps and program shortcuts are.

this is how it looks like :

1. Prefered Brand ASUS/LENOVO/DELL
2. Budget RM2-RM2.4k
3. Usage : Surfing internet, quite heavy gaming (at least GT640m)
4. Screen size 15.6"

I'm interested on LENOVO Z500, but some PCShops told me that if I want to use for gaming, it is not suitable. Z500 is slim and easily get heating problem. Any suggestion??

Don't see why you need 15" unless you want dedicated numpad tongue.gif Same screen resolution in 14" & 15" (1366x768) just give you the same image.
For your budget, better go for 14".
