yes, sfsg..
i'm really satisfied with the result.

side effects?..well, for the first 7 months, my eyes were really dry, so i used eyes drop within those months..but now, i've stopped alredi..

the doctor was good, the receptionists were nice and the girl that checked my eyes is beautiful..hehe

if u wanna do, i suggest u to choose intralase..the full-laser procedure.

i can't believe i jus go for the intralase when my first visit to optimax..
no pain, jus hard to open my eye, sensitive..

today is 2nd day, looking good after eye check..
still little bit blur & vision not stable, but can drive & read now.
can't sleep well becoz wearing the eye shield, my wife call me an alien that get hurt..
doesn't feel dry or uncomfortable, minor glare & halos when looking at the light in the room, haven't go out at night yet..

good luck for those going to laser/lasik.

The halos may take some time to disappear. When going out during the first week, still need to wear sunglasses as there is sensitivity to light.

ya.. jus to avoid u rub/press ur eye when u sleep...
well, morning was wearing sunglasses, becoz very hard open ur eye in strong sun light..

Added on August 31, 2011, 2:09 pmhem.. this is the 4th day after the surgery, everything fine,
- sometime will feel dry or itches
- still training to focus, sometime feel blur, but outdoor definitely sharp.
- can't see clear object 5cm, last 2 days was 10cm.

how about u all? i'm no longer using sunglasses in the room, only outdoor, and started facing laptop all day.. damn boring as i prefer not to go out jalan jalan (dust a lot)

i force my self 1day away from the monitor only... i think i do the wrong thing sad.gif
basically, the next day after the surgery u feel like hard to focus any object, but its actually so clear..
for outdoor with sun, i still wear sunglasses.
for indoor, day4 or day5 no need any more.. when u feel the indoor light is normal, no longer glaring.
the next day after surgery checkup - left right 0 & 0..
1week check is left - 0, right -50 (blur for the 20/20 line, abc reading, sad).. the optometrist said it still recovery, so wait till next checkup..
hope it remain or back to 0.. smile.gif

What is the recommended age to do such a surgery?
I'm 19 this year.
400 short-sightedness on both eyes.

So far, Lasik or lasek is better? :/

quoted : You are at least 18 years and have had stable vision for the past year

Lasik is better than lasek...of course, intralase is the best
so generally Intralasik>lasik>lasek....
actually u hv to make eye checkup 1st b4 deciding which one is the best...

2. Am I a suitable candidate?

A detailed eye examination is required to determine the candidacy of LASIK.
These general requisites must also be met:
• Adult above the age of 18
Healthy eyes with stable vision
• Must not be pregnant or nursing
• Sufficient corneal thickness with no signs of keratoconus

Taken from Optimax website.
I remember reading in a pamphlet somewhere that 'stable vision' is where your eye correction levels have not changed for at least 12 months. Will update here if I manage to find the source.
